The Houla Hoaxsters Post Date: 2012-06-04 06:54:26 by Ada

Another Benghazi moment this time in Syria It was supposed to be another Benghazi moment an incident so horrific that it would spark Western military intervention in Syrias increasingly violent civil war. The massacre at Houla was reported to be just such a moment: Syrias security forces stand accused of killing 32 children under ten years of age, and more than 60 adults, by bombing the rebel-held village of Houla. Photos of the massacre soon appeared on Twitter: and on YouTube, videos of the slaughter, uploaded by anonymous activists, appeared on cue. There was just one problem with this evidence of a massacre ...
How the Super Rich Avoid Taxes Post Date: 2012-06-03 06:57:12 by Tatarewicz

The way that we tax people in the United States is fundamentally broken and should be completely discarded. The U.S. tax code is absolutely riddled with loopholes that allow the super rich to legally avoid taxes while many of the rest of us are being taxed into oblivion. In our system of taxation, middle class families that work hard and try to play by the rules are deeply penalized while those that are willing to abuse the system make out like bandits. There is something fundamentally wrong with a system that enables wealthy politicians such as Barack Obama and Mitt Romney to pay a smaller percentage of their incomes in taxes than millions of middle class families. Mitt Romney has ...
Censorship Alert: Government Shuts Down Health Blog Post Date: 2012-06-03 06:17:53 by Tatarewicz

According to Pingdom.com, there are more than 109 million blogs on the Internet. The blogging world has reshaped the way the Internet relays information. From cat photos to how to cover up cheating on your spouse, the blogosphere is one crazy world of information conjured up by the given writer and sent out to the masses. Does this mean that all blogs are truthful? We hope than anyone who knows how to turn on their personal computer to read this knows that not everything you see on a blog is necessarily accurate. But when it comes to blogging in North Carolina, apparently you must possess the proper doctoral certification to blog about health. Like many bloggers out there, Steven ...

More Pieces of the Puzzle Revealed Posted by Charles Burris on June 2, 2012 04:41 PM Longtime LRC readers know that one of my frequent areas of commentary and analysis deals with elite manipulation of mass public opinion and psychological warfare, particularly the intelligence communitys creation of synthetic liberal and conservative movements to rationalize the National Security States projection of power and the hegemony of the American empire. The CIA created these propaganda networks to mirror those which had earlier been created by the Soviets own mastermind, Willie Münzenberg. Recently, more fascinating pieces of this intricate Cold ...

Were Nazi Soldiers Heroes? Post Date: 2012-06-01 07:36:25 by Ada

Have you ever noticed that Nazi soldiers, especially those who died in World War II, are never celebrated as heroes? Why is that? Didnt they answer the call of their government in time of war? Didnt they serve their country by loyally obeying the dictates of their government? Werent they patriots for their willingness to fight and die for their country? Im not talking about soldiers who committed war crimes or who participated in the Holocaust. Im talking about ordinary German soldiers, many of whom were civilians before the war started, who fought Allied forces in North Africa, at the Battle of the Bulge, on the Eastern front, and elsewhere. Why arent ...
The current nature of "resistance". Is it effective? Post Date: 2012-05-31 13:15:32 by PSUSA2

I say it is not effective. And here's why. Resistance today is more reactive than active. This trend needs to be reversed, or at least modified to a point closer to achieving a balance. The problem with being reactive is that you let the enemy dictate your actions. The enemy, not known for being stupid, then uses this tendency to steer you where they want you to go. Look at the results. Are we better off after having resisted? Some have been resisting for decades, but they still dance to the enemies tune. Look at how the enemy operates. I'll use the military for example. Does a general say "I think we will attack today. Everyone, attack in that direction!"? Hell no. ...

Judge Kozinski, Judge Matz, and the L.A.P.D. has yet to condemn their pattern of ongoing gross physical and psychological abuse. And by this silence, they signal tacit approval and encourage further abuses of fundamental rights. Their bullying, threatening and deprivation of the free speech rights is willful and/or recklessly indifferent, based on a retaliatory motive. Such tactics have no place in a democracy. Their threats reach a substantial amount of constitutionally protected speech and is ...

Turning back to that page out of Stalins handbook for good citizenship, the Obama campaign has revived its program of asking Americans to inform on fellow citizens when they see someone, some organization, some politician, or some news outlet attacking the Obammessiah. Some of you may recall the black eye that team Obama got when it tried to do this before. Obamas Attack Watch was heavily lampooned. (See Video Below) One of the best tools that the East German and Soviet regimes had to keep the average citizen of their oppressive regimes in line was a program that urged citizens to tattle on their neighbors, that taught children to tell on their parents, and ...

U.S. asks judge to undo ruling against military detention law Post Date: 2012-05-26 09:30:10 by Ada

NEW YORK | Fri May 25, 2012 8:54pm EDT (Reuters) - Federal prosecutors on Friday urged a judge to lift her order barring enforcement of part of a new law that permits indefinite military detention, a measure critics including a prize-winning journalist say is too vague and threatens free speech. Manhattan federal court Judge Katherine Forrest this month ruled in favor of activists and reporters who said they feared being detained under a section of the law, signed by President Barack Obama in December. The government says indefinite military detention without trial is justified in some cases involving militants and their supporters. But critics worry that the law is unclear and gives ...

we dont have to think about, or even know how to do ANYTHING, from lawn care to vehicle maintenance to carpentry. While it may be convenient, this level of specialization does breed a certain amount of dependency
and nowhere is this more obvious than in the Big Ag food system. Most people are completely dependent on a small handful of companiesMonsanto, ADM, etc. which control most of the food supply and ...

Doug Casey on Taxes and Freedom, Part II Post Date: 2012-05-23 06:21:08 by Tatarewicz

In yesterdays edition of The Daily Reckoning, we featured Part I of a provocative interview with Doug Casey about taxes and freedom...and whatever else was on his mind. Taxation is force alloyed with fraud, Doug declared in Part I of the interview. Its theft, pure and simple. Most people basically admit this when they call taxation a necessary evil, somehow mentally evading confrontation with the fact that they are giving sanction to evil. But I question whether there can be such a thing as a necessary evil. Can anything evil really be necessary? Can anything necessary really be evil?... In Part II, Doug expands upon this ...

We have already provided much cold, hard, clinical facts on the hypothetical Greek EMU exit on countless occasions before. Yet Jefferies' David Zervos has done it with such peculiar aplomb which we have not encountered before, that we felt compelled to share with it readers. Zervos' Paulsonesque 'apocalyptic' flair shines particularly when analyzing what happens at T-0, i.e., June 16, i.e., the day before Greek election day, i.e., the last Greek free call option on physical euros if all hell breaks loose: "On June 16th why wouldn't every Greek go to the bank with a sack and ask for the cash. Why hold Euros into the 17th? By that logic why not get them out earlier in ...

After more than 20 years, Ive finally decided to tell the world what I witnessed in 1991, which I believe was one of the biggest turning point in popular music, and ultimately American society. I have struggled for a long time weighing the pros and cons of making this story public as I was reluctant to implicate the individuals who were present that day. So Ive simply decided to leave out names and all the details that may risk my personal well being and that of those who were, like me, dragged into something they werent ready for. Between the late 80′s and early 90s, I was what you may call a decision maker with one of the more established company ...

Court Rejects Obama Arguments, Enjoins Against NDAA Detentions: Obama-appointed Judge States that Dissidents Have Reasonable Fear of Military Detention Post Date: 2012-05-16 20:44:52 by F.A. Hayek Fan

US District Judge Katherine Forrest has issued a temporary injunction prohibiting the enforcement of the portions of the National Defense Authorization Act 2012 (NDAA) that relate to open-ended military detention of suspects, rejecting the Obama Administrations arguments that the eight plaintiffs in the case, including Noam Chomsky and Daniel Ellsberg, did not have standing to contest such detention practices. Judge Forrest ruled that Chomsky, Ellsberg and the others had reasonable reason to believe that the NDAA could be used to have them captured and transferred into military custody by virtue of their antiwar stances and opposition to the ...

Former Chongqing Communist Party chief Bo Xilai's recent interview with an obscure Japanese media was a "bizarre" move arranged by Beijing's top leaders, reported the Voice of America (VOA) Sunday, citing Taiwanese scholars. Lin Chong-pin, a professor of international affairs at Tamkang University and a former deputy defense minister, said the interview was the latest move by China's top leaders -- President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao -- to push for political reform and signal to the outside world their confidence in handling Bo's case properly, according to VOA. The interview, which Lin said was agreed upon by Chinese authorities in advance, also indicated ...
mericans renounce US citizenship to pursue destiny in Russia Post Date: 2012-05-15 03:57:06 by Tatarewicz

Americans in record numbers are doing what was once considered unthinkable - renouncing their US citizenship. In numerical terms, at least 1,788 Americans officially gave up their US citizenship in 2011 - more than the combined totals from 2007, 2008 and 2009 - and 2012 promises to be another record breaking year, with 461 Americans already taking this action in the first quarter of the year, according to US Treasury Department figures. Although these numbers may seem like a small percentage of the US population, the fact that there are a record number 6.3 million US citizens working abroad, and that a record number of them are renouncing their citizenship, is worthy of further ...
