AMAZING SPEECH BY WAR VETERAN - Is it too late to wake up?

Today, (the American 4th of July) is a Day to Realize that We The People Celebrate nothing, even more so then we realize, without even knowing. That so many of us are carrying on the Fourth of July Ritual without realizing that we have done nothing to Keep and or to Properly Maintain Our Country and it's future. Consider the Loss of Our Country to the most vile and organized Global Crime Syndicate in all known human history who parade around the hallways of the Satanic Masonic Encrypted Buildings of the Washington District of Criminals. Consider that while so many of us are watching the Fourth of July Celebrations throughout this country today, do any of us and or they realize that ...

Public School Educators: Most Are a Sorry Lot

Well, my tenure with public education is through, and I would be a sorry libertarian if I didn’t reflect upon the state of affairs I’ve seen while teaching seventh grade mathematics. As a disclaimer, credit is not without due. There are heroes in our schools who deserve the tip of our hat. They are talented individuals who enjoy their job and bring countless smiles to the little faces that walk into their classroom. Of course, the dilemma is that any public school teacher reading those lines will smile with an air of self-importance. Educators seem to naturally scarf up any broad complements and outsource all criticisms. Indeed, modesty is not a common trait within the classroom. ...

Our New (Unprincipled) Elite

Harvard Law professor Noah Feldman had a bit of Jewish triumphalism published recently in the NY Times (”The Triumphant Decline of the WASP“). Now that the WASPs have gone down to zero seats on the Supreme Court and there’s a Black president, it’s time to congratulate the WASPs for holding onto their principles even though their principles caused their demise: WASPs as the first and only proposition ethnic group. Satisfaction with our national progress [by having 3 Jews on the Supreme Court and no WASPs] should not make us forget its authors: the very Protestant elite that founded and long dominated our nation’s institutions of higher education and government, ...

James Bovard is the author of Freedom in Chains: The Rise of the State and the Demise of the Citizen (St. Martin’s Press). Many politicians talk as if citizens were obliged both to revere and obey their government. But there are few things more dangerous than swallowing the notion that government is entitled to boundless obedience from the people under its power. Throughout history, governments have occasionally overstepped the bounds of their legitimate power. What should be done when government betrays its promises? John Locke’s work Two Treatises of Government was written in the 1680s, when Englishmen were chafing under the growing tyranny of the Stuart kings. Locke wrote, ...

Is the Decline of Newspapers a Market Failure? Or creative destruction?

Over the past year there has been a flurry of government-related activity aimed at stopping the decline of the newspaper business. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has held three series of workshops on the subject, drawing dozens of top academics, national politicians, business leaders from companies like Google and News Corporation, and the FTC commissioners themselves. On June 7 the agency released a discussion paper titled “Potential Policy Recommendations to Support the Reinvention of Journalism” (pdf), and a week later it held a workshop at the National Press Club, “How Will Journalism Survive?” to discuss its proposals. This activity has focused on two issues. ...

The Original Founding Fathers Philosophy: The Founding Fathers: Smugglers, Tax Evaders, and Traitors?

During patriotic holidays, the news media applaud the Founding Fathers. But rarely does anyone mention some important facts about them: that they were smugglers, tax evaders, and traitors. Not only is this important, it is also praiseworthy; it produced the most advanced civilization ever known. The Revolution is often said to have begun in 1775 at the Battle of Lexington. In truth, it began in the 16th century when the first colonists began traveling to the New World. Consider the hardships these people faced. Abandoning their relatives and friends, they boarded small leaky boats like the Mayflower – which was only as long as six automobiles – to spend months crossing 3,000 ...

A ‘Kill Switch’ for the State

Two or more decades ago I wrote an article in which I suggested that, while the collapse of our civilization would ultimately prove beneficial to the productive purposes of society, the transition would, in the short-term, not be pretty to watch. The threat to the established order would be devastating, a challenge that would elicit the most violent and desperate efforts to defend the status quo. Wars, increased police powers, the enhanced regulation of and restrictions on alternative social systems, would become the norm. A society so constituted could well be symbolized as a faceless SWAT team member shoving his automatic rifle into the face of a cowering peaceful demonstrator. By its ...

Endless war, a recipe for four-star arrogance

Long wars are antithetical to democracy. Protracted conflict introduces toxins that inexorably corrode the values of popular government. Not least among those values is a code of military conduct that honors the principle of civilian control while keeping the officer corps free from the taint of politics. Events of the past week -- notably the Rolling Stone profile that led to Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal's dismissal -- hint at the toll that nearly a decade of continuous conflict has exacted on the U.S. armed forces. The fate of any one general qualifies as small beer: Wearing four stars does not signify indispensability. But indications that the military's professional ethic is ...

Wikileaks’ Julian Assange Homeschooled to Avoid Unhealthy Respect for Authority

Irish Times Julian Assange of the Wikileaks website appears to have gone to ground after receiving more US military secrets. But keeping a low profile as he wages “information warfare” is par for the course for this hacker with a conspiracy theory and a grudge against authority, writes BRIAN BOYD WITH HIS HALO of martyrdom, shield of truth and righteous sword at the ready to slay the beasts of government lies and military cover-ups, the Australian journalist Julian Assange, who is being breathlessly described as “the most dangerous man in the world”, is like some freedom-of-information cartoon hero come to life. WarIsACrime.org End Vietghanistan This Week Little known secret: if the U.S. House of Representatives stops funding a war, or any other crime, neither the Senate nor the President nor the military can continue the killing. The Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, David Obey, can single-handedly block funding to escalate the war in Afghanistan, and currently he is doing so by refusing to advance it unless schools and jobs are funded. Call him every day to thank him and ask him to reject war escalation funding even if jobs and teachers are funded: (202) 225-3365. There are two ways this can go down, and one of them is likely to play out this week. Now is the moment, if you care ...

The Powers-That-Be Are Terrified of the Mass Awakening Taking Place Worldwide

Our situation is admittedly dire. Oligarchs are seizing more overt control in most countries in the world, the worldwide economy is on course for another - even bigger - train wreck, countries are cracking down on freedom and becoming more tyrannical, we are in a permanent state of war (and see this), and companies like BP are destroying our natural resources without any checks and balances. But as Andrew Gavin Marshall points out, the elites are actually terrified of the mass political awakening which is occurring worldwide. Marshall collects quotes from flexian Zbigniew Brzezinski - Obama's former foreign affairs adviser, National Security Adviser to President Carter, creator of ...

Boy Scouts Win Battle in Court

A Philadelphia jury has ruled in favor of the Boy Scouts, meaning they will not be evicted from their home or forced to pay rent, at least for now. Outside the courthouse, a lawyer for the Boy Scouts, Jason Gosselin, told Fox News the Scouts won on the most important issue, that of First Amendment rights. The jury found the city posed an unconstitutional condition on the organization by asking it to pay $200,000 annual rent on property it was leasing for a dollar a year, in a building the Scouts built and paid for themselves, all because the city felt the Scouts were in violation of Philadelphia's anti-discrimination laws. "What we really want is to sit down with the city and ...

The Myth of Political Consent

This is an excerpt from Direct Citizen Action: How We Can Win the Second American Revolution Without Firing a Shot. Permit me to digress into a discussion of the meaning of political consent and its withdrawal. I am not saying that the American people ever explicitly consented to be ruled by the regime on the Potomac, or that they are parties to some mysterious Social Contract that implies their consent. That is all utter nonsense and propaganda. I know I never consented to be ruled by a regime that I have strongly opposed since my teenage years. Nor have I ever signed a Social Contract allowing them to rule over me. I’d be a jackass if I had. To the best of my knowledge, no living ...

Corporate atrocities against nature may ultimately destroy human civilization

(NaturalNews) What's most striking about the present BP oil catastrophe is not that it is an aberration but rather part of a dangerous pattern of mankind's propensity to destroy nature. To destroy life in a large region of an ocean isn't even new: The world already has over two hundred "dead zones" where fish can't live because the ocean water has no more oxygen left thanks to the runoff effects of man-made chemicals. Not content with mere deforestation and the vast destruction of biodiversity on land, Man has now expanded to destroy the oceans through overfishing, ocean acidification from CO2 emissions, agricultural runoff, flushing pharmaceuticals down the drain ...

Gulf Oil Catastrophe - Epic Lies And Deceit ©By Dr. Ilya Sandra Perlingieri 6-21-10 For the past two months, I have been following closely the heart-wrenching ecological unraveling of the entire Gulf of Mexico from the initial explosion on the 50-mile offshore oil rig on April 20 and the ensuing massive toxicity. Even before the explosion, there is enough evidence (even from the New York Times) to show that this was more than an accident. Insiders sold shares before April 20. Poor-to-no management. Warnings from those on site that went unheeded. The list goes on and on. With a well this deep, on a geologically unstable seabed, there was no precaution. No emergency plans. No care. No ...

Police Misconduct and Public Accountability - What are they trying to hide?

Why is it difficult to prosecute police officers for criminal misconduct even when the abuse is severe and unequivocal? A February news item from WSVN-TV in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale points to one reason. A homeless man’s attorney said surveillance video shows deputies used excessive force in his arrest. Gerald McGovern, 58 [said he] did not attack them, as charged. Instead, they attacked him. The public defender’s office said the surveillance video clears McGovern and implicates BSO [Broward Sheriff’s Office]…. A witness, Roberto Aguilara, backed up McGovern’s claim. Note the omission. The news report names the alleged victim, the witness and (elsewhere) the lawyer ...

Man Buys Police Website After Speeding Ticket

Nobody likes getting a speeding ticket. But when Brian McCrary, 33, received a speeding ticket in Bluff City, Tennessee, he didn't just complain, he bought the local police department's website and used it to complain. After receiving a $90 speeding ticket earlier this year for cruising through what he called a speed trap, McCrary went to the Bluff City Police Department's website to reschedule his hearing. When he saw that the site's content had been replaced with a notice saying that the domain name was on the verge of expiring, he saw an opportunity. He waited a few weeks until the name had officially lapsed, and then he pounced. "I really thought for sure that ...
