Turtle's ex had a five-year-old Honda Pilot with 80,000 miles on it, but wanted a new one. So she haggled with the dealer and after the trade-in paid $20,000 for her barnd-new Pilot. However, she is so angry with the banks getting bailouts from her taxpayer money, and including the fact they raised her interest rate to 25%, cut her limit, and told her too bad when she complained, she quit paying her credti card bills and negotiated a settlement for 50% of what she owned. So she essentially got her new Pilot for free.

A correspondent recently informed me about the Global Poverty Act of 2007. This bill did not pass Congress. It can be re-introduced in the current Congress. Obama favors this bill.
I have a negative opinion of this bill. I could explain why my opinion is negative. I’ve done that before with other laws that have been passed by the federal government. Instead, I will go to the root of the political matter.

It is true the amount of comic books I read as a kid weighed more than I did. It got to the point where I couldn't lift the box in my closet in which I stored them. I wish I had kept them. I wouldn't be able to retire on their sale, but I wouldn't have any more car payments. Comics, for me, were just way cool. I was fascinated by the multi-colored drawings depicting things impossible in real life, such as guys zooming through the air like The Rocketeer. Whoa! Even the most-advanced CGI in movies today is finally beginning to catch up with the comics of 50 years ago. Mostly, though, I liked the stories.
