Berg v. Obama v. Reality Written by Jim Capo Monday, 24 November 2008 08:00 Hillary Clinton partisan Philip Berg might be a good lawyer, but he is no student of the U.S. Constitution. His effort to derail the pending presidency of Barack Obama with his personal lawsuit is a dead end. Mr. Berg has no standing to challenge the citizenship of Barack Obama because electors in the electoral college choose our country's presidents - not general election voters. In fact, there is no constitutional requirement that any popular vote be held to influence the selection of our nation's president. These simple Constitutional facts seems to be lost on Mr. Berg and those who think he is ...
Obama’s odious entourage Post Date: 2008-11-26 13:59:58 by christine

Disappointment follows disappointment with each new face, but there is a sort of silver lining. Yes, we mustnt expect too much. We all know it is the establishment that comes first in United States politics. Obamas presidency could easily be sabotaged by the powers that put him there. But still. He would never have made it past the first, obscure primary without his army of selfless, grassroots activists, and his coffers were first filled by millions of small, personal donations. Surely these are the people he should honour with at least a few names. Even Clinton had his Health and Human Services Secretary Donna Shalala (at least until she was tarred and feathered ...
Mazuz to Olmert: I plan to indict you in 'Rishon Tours' affair [the guy's a total crook, of the most sordid variety] Post Date: 2008-11-26 13:17:49 by a vast rightwing conspirator

Mazuz to Olmert: I plan to indict you in 'Rishon Tours' affair By JPOST.COM STAFF Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will stand trial over several criminal charges relating to the Rishon Tours affair, Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz notified him on Wednesday. Mazuz told Olmert to expect an indicted on charges of fraudulent receipt of goods under aggravated circumstances, fraud, breach of public trust, false registration in corporate documents and tax evasion. The prime minister is suspected of having sent bills to more than one non- profit organization for trips that he made abroad to raise money for them. Yes, they're connected
One is hardly ever shocked anymore: that seems to be the defining characteristic of modernity. Yet I got to experience that rare sensation the other day when I read this blog item on LewRockwell.com. Aha! I thought. So that's why the MSNBCers are hailing the Big Bailout at the top of their lungs their parent company, General Electric, also owns GE Capital, which was declared "too big to fail" and given its bailout infusion the day after the election. The timing of this announcement was fairly interesting, as noted by conservative-libertarian columnist Jim Pinkerton. Pinkerton was rightly outraged when, in response to MSNBC's Chris ...

Trouble in Paradise: Obama’s Kenyan Birth Record on it’s Way to US

I have been notified - but not verified - that the actual birth certificate mentioned in Philip Berg’s lawsuit is on it’s way to the US, where it will be distributed to media outlets. The certificate apparently shows that Barack Hussein Obama was born in a hospital in Mombasa, Kenya located in Coast Province.
Gina Cobb first reported on the existence of this certificate back in October.
Again, SC Justice David Souter has ordered Obama to respond to the Writ of Certiorari by Dec. 1. That means to produce a birth certificate.
UPDATE: More on the Writ ...

America Has Never Seen Anything Quite Like This, Obama's unusual transition: Already a co-president Post Date: 2008-11-24 18:44:36 by christine

WASHINGTON America has never seen anything quite like this: The president and president-elect acting like co-presidents, consulting and cooperating on the day's biggest crises. "It's pretty unusual," said George Edwards, a presidential expert at Texas A&M University, in College Station. What Princeton University professor Julian Zelizer calls "the split-screen presidency" is the result of several historic forces converging this fall: The 24-7 nature of the global economy, which demands timely reaction. Incoming and outgoing presidents who have personal and political reasons to show that they can manage a crisis. A president-elect, Barack ...
45 years on, JFK killing haunts Secret Service protecting Obama Post Date: 2008-11-23 11:44:42 by christine

Americans reflected Saturday on the presidency of John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated 45 years ago, as once again a young, inspiring president is headed to the White House. President-elect Barack Obama has often been compared for his lofty ideals and charisma to the late JFK, who was shot dead in Dallas, Texas in 1963. But Obama's appeal and his historic election as the first African-American US president have many people worried about potential threats to his life. "He is inspirational, he is an historic figure, he is the first African-American president; but there is also -- because of that potential for stirring up social unrest -- that also makes him a target," said ...

Changing With Retreads -- The Third Clinton Administration By RALPH NADER November 21, 2008 "Counterpunch" -- While the liberal intelligentsia was swooning over Barack Obama during his presidential campaign, I counseled prepare to be disappointed. His record as a Illinois state and U.S. Senator, together with the many progressive and long overdue courses of action he opposed during his campaign, rendered such a prediction unfortunate but obvious. Now this same intelligentsia is beginning to howl over Obamas transition team and early choices to run his Administration. Having defeated Senator Hillary Clinton in the Democratic Primaries, he now is busily ...

Two years without a single leak and suddenly, last week, Obamas operation was like a sieve. Thats what happens when you pick up the phone and call one of the Clintons. Or, to put it another way, thats what happens when someone claims you, the president elect, picked up the phone and called Mrs Clinton to ask whether shed like to be secretary of state. Out the window goes the sense of purposeful strides towards a new-look Administration. In comes a dreadful feeling that somehow weve slipped a dimension in the space-time continuum and are heading back into the Clinton era. A couple of more weeks and the Republicans will be calling for a special prosecutor. ...

Obama aides: Lieberman would have helped McCain camp If Sen. John McCain had picked Sen. Joe Lieberman as his running mate, the election might have been much different, said top advisers of President-elect Barack Obama's campaign for the White House, Politico reported. Choosing Lieberman over Gov. Sarah Palin for the Republican ticket would have undermined Obama's claimed status as the candidate of change and unity, said Obama-Biden deputy campaign manager Steve Hildebrand. "I think if he wouldve picked Lieberman or another Democrat, he wouldve taken away an important trademark of Baracks," Hildebrand said. As supporters of Sen. Hillary Clinton ...

Obama’s Birth Certificate Challenger Keeps Going Post Date: 2008-11-21 19:22:36 by TwentyTwelve

Obamas Birth Certificate Challenger Keeps Going You've got to hand it Philip J. Berg: he doesn't give up easily. You might recall that Philadelphia attorney Berg tried, and failed, to halt the presidential election of Barack Obama on the grounds that he is not a native-born citizen. Game over, right? Wrong. Berg filed a writ of certiorari to the U.S. Supreme Court in late October, asking that the highest court review the decision of the U.S. District Court in Pennsylvania. The latter court dismissed Berg's claims because he lacked standing to bring them. Standing requires plaintiffs to prove they are directly affected by the issue at hand, with evidence of injury that ...

Yes we can! We had a breather during the final stretch of the presidential election campaign, but the way is now cleared for a renewal of the propaganda campaign urging war with Iran. The latest salvo: a UN report claiming Iran plans on building 3,000 new centrifuges, and headlines are screaming in the West, at any rate that Iran will have enough uranium to build a nuclear bomb by sometime next year. Is this true? Undoubtedly not. To begin with, lets go through the news accounts: heres a typical one, a Reuters dispatch, which reports a "stand off" between Tehran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), run by the UN, which monitors nuclear ...

Nov. 20 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey collapsed while giving a speech in Washington tonight and was taken to a hospital. Mukasey, 67, began slurring his words, slumped at the lectern and fell to the floor as he neared the end of a speech to the Federalist Society. Several people gathered around him to offer aid and emergency workers arrived. He was taken to George Washington University Hospital, where Justice Department officials awaited word on his condition. Members of the audience at his speech, including former Attorney General John Ashcroft, formed a human wall so people could not view Mukasey as he was taken away. A member of the audience offered a prayer for ...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) The CIA obstructed inquiries into its role in the shooting down of an aircraft carrying a family of U.S. missionaries in Peru in 2001, the agency's inspector general has concluded. The inspector-general's report said a CIA-backed program in Peru targeting drug runners was so poorly run that many suspect aircraft were shot down by Peruvian air force jets without proper checks being made first. Unclassified portions of the report were made public for the first time on Thursday by U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra, the top Republican on the House of Representatives Intelligence Committee, who criticized the CIA for the "needless" deaths. Central ...
Obama's Intelligence Agenda More of the Same from the "Change Administration" Post Date: 2008-11-20 11:18:35 by christine

While expectations may be high that the incoming Obama administration will reverse many of the worst features of the Bush regime--from warrantless wiretapping, illegal detention, torture, "targeted assassinations" and preemptive war--now that the cheering has stopped, expect more of the same. According to The Wall Street Journal, "President-elect Barack Obama is unlikely to radically overhaul controversial Bush administration intelligence policies, advisers say, an approach that is almost certain to create tension within the Democratic Party." With hyperbolic "change" rhetoric in the air, Obama is relying on a gaggle of former intelligence insiders, ...

WASHINGTON (AP) - Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, an early Barack Obama supporter from the southwestern part of the country, is the likely choice for the job of secretary of homeland security, a top Obama adviser said Thursday. These adviser cautioned that no final decision has been made on the position, which involves directing the massive department created by Congress in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. The adviser agreed to discuss the situation only on grounds of anonymity because of the private nature of the screening process for Obama's Cabinet. Napolitano, who once was Arizona's attorney general, was among the first of the Democratic ...

Liberal-left media mafia target dissident to demonstrate that no one will express an opinion contrary to their morally bankrupt Marxist ideology The liberal-left Marxist hate brigade which has infected every western media organisation has gone into meltdown once again after a TV pundit on American affairs dared to express an opinion shared by millions of white people across the world. And Austria's official state broadcaster is refusing to sack a senior political commentator who said "blacks were not civilised enough to rule" and pointed to the basket case of Africa. Poland has been forced to deny its foreign minister 'joked' that President-Elect Barack Obama's grandparents were cannibals. In an episode that could potentially strain relations between Warsaw and Washington, Radek Sikorski, an Oxford-educated politician who has lived in the US, was reported to have made the jibe by an opposition politician, Ryszard Czarnecki. Writing in his blog, Mr Czarnecki, an MEP, quoted the foreign minister as saying: "Have you heard that Obama may have a Polish connection? His grandfather ate a Polish missionary." A spokesman for the Polish foreign office conceded that Mr Sikorski had made the controversial comment, but denied that the ...
