Obama Advisor Accuses Jews of McCarthyism Post Date: 2008-05-28 00:34:05 by Arator

Obama adviser accuses Jews of 'McCarthyism' Alex Spillius in Washington A foreign policy expert consulted by presidential hopeful Barack Obama has accused members of the American Jewish establishment of "McCarthyism" in its attitude towards critics of Israel. Former national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski says that the pro-Israel lobby in the US is too powerful, while the slur of anti-Semitism is too readily used whenever its power is called into question. Presenting a solution for the Middle East, he listed historical compromises that had to be made by Israelis and Palestinians but accused the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) -- the largest and ...
John McCain's Navy Flight Instructor Weighs In Post Date: 2008-05-27 21:42:12 by X-15

Greetings! I was John McCain's Navy Flight Instructor --- in formation tactics and air-to-air-gunnery. I could write a book about this man. Suffice to state, I shudder (and I'm fearless) at the nightmare thought of this man becoming our next President and Commander in Chief. I am not alone as to this man's former shipmates, instructors and senior officers --- as to who and what this man is really all about. Although politics is really theater and the best performing actor gets to stay on the main stage --- sorta like American Idol only much more dangerous to all living things --- the performance and the make-over (re-invention) of this man is currently matched only by that of ...

Yes, it was MY turn today. Whoopeee...... First of all, I damn near forgot it. I have so tuned out to political ads/signs/etc., and most all the nooz, as well. If it hadn't been for cutting out my Dad's obituary, I wouldn't have seen the picture of the local Sheriff who is up for re-election. That I did remember; and seeing as how I like the old coot, I hied myself down to the local American Legion Post hall to vote. Of course, I know how this primary bullcrappy works--you can vote ONLY a STRAIGHT TICKET...............ah yes, but lovely ladies, you don't have to vote for every single office.........now, do ya? There was a gentle man ahead of me quietly lamenting that he ...

A Conservative For Obama? 27 May 2008 12:56 pm Packer attempts to summarize me: Sullivan, a Burkean by philosophy but a radical by temperament, is the most interesting critic of his former conservative allies, and Ive learned a lot about conservatism agonistes from reading his blog. He says that conservatism isnt about solving problems but about recognizing the limits of mans ability to do so, especially in the form of organized activity called government. His breakdown cant help stacking the deck: conservatism is modest, skeptical, narrowly focussed on what can be done; liberalism tries, promiscuously, to satisfy everyones needs. Sullivan believes that the ...

CNN) Former President Bill Clinton said that Democrats were more likely to lose in November if his wife Hillary Clinton is not the partys presidential nominee, and suggested some people were trying to cover this up and push and pressure and bully superdelegates to make up their minds prematurely. "I cant believe it. It is just frantic the way they are trying to push and pressure and bully all these superdelegates to come out, he said at a South Dakota campaign stop Sunday, in remarks first reported by ABC News. 'Oh, this is so terrible: The people they want her. Oh, this is so terrible: She is winning the general election, and ...

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. At the Aberdeen Golf and Country Club on Sunday, the fountains were burbling, the man-made lakes were shining, and Shirley Weitz and Ruth Grossman were debating why Jews in this gated neighborhood of airy retirement homes feel so much trepidation about Senator Barack Obama. The people here, liberal people, will not vote for Obama because of his attitude towards Israel, Ms. Weitz, 83, said, lingering over brunch. Theyre going to vote for McCain, she said. Ms. Grossman, 80, agreed with her friends conclusion, but not her reasoning. Theyll pick on the minister thing, theyll pick on the wife, but the major ...

Will Media Report Obama's Gaffe About When Hugo Chavez Came to Power?
By Noel Sheppard | May 25, 2008 - 15:14 ET
Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama made another gaffe on the campaign trail Friday when he suggested at a luncheon hosted by the Cuban American National Foundation that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez came to power while George W. Bush was in the White House.
Chavez was first elected president in 1998, and reelected in 2000, both occurring while Bill Clinton was serving his second term.
This was not the only gaffe Obama made in Florida Friday, for at another campaign stop, the junior senator from Illinois several times referred to the city of Sunrise as ...
Barack Obama wants Bill to heal Hillary Clinton wounds Post Date: 2008-05-25 15:08:54 by christine

Barack Obama, the probable Democratic presidential nominee, wants Bill Clinton to help him heal the deep party rifts created by his wife Hillarys divisive campaign culminating in her dramatic claim this weekend that the 1968 assassination of Robert F Kennedy was a reason not to be pushed out of the race. The tension between Hillary Clinton and Obama intensified after she told the Sioux Falls Argus Leader in South Dakota, which holds the last primary contest in 10 days time: We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June. She quickly apologised, ashen-faced, for a comment which appeared dangerously close to wishful thinking about Obama, but the damage ...

Geraldine Ferraro, the only woman to run on a major party presidential ticket and a supporter of Hillary Clinton, has accused Barack Obama of conducting a "terribly sexist" campaign. Miss Ferraro, the losing Democratic candidate for vice-president in 1984, said that she might abandon her lifelong party loyalties and vote for the Republican John McCain if Mr Obama is confirmed as the nominee. "Should I ratify how the Obama campaign has been run by voting for him? I am going to have to think very hard about that," she said. Some other partisan female Clinton supporters have already insisted that they will either vote for Mr McCain or write the former First Lady's ...

LONDON (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter said on Sunday he expects Democratic superdelegates to reveal their choice for presidential nominee soon after the final primary in June and that Hillary Clinton will then have to quit the race. In an interview with Sky News, Carter said he did not think Clinton was achieving anything by staying in the fight. "I think not. But of course she has the perfect right to do so," he said while attending a literary festival in Britain. "I'm a superdelegate ... I think a lot of the superdelegates will make a decision quite, announced quite rapidly, after the final primary on June 3," he told Sky News. "I have not ...

Establishment leaders would have us believe that Presidential Candidates John McCain and Barack Obama offer vastly dissimilar proposals for Iraq but in reality, there is virtually no difference between their plans. Follow this link to the original source: "McCain on His Hopes for His First Term" In a recent major speech, Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain outlined his vision for the future and described what he desires to have achieved by end of a first term in office. The defining portion of the speech was his description of what he hoped the situation in Iraq would be, under his leadership, by 2013. By January 2013, America has welcomed home most of the ...

WASHINGTON Senator John McCains presidential campaign is in a troubled stretch, hindered by resignations of staff members, a lagging effort to build a national campaign organization and questions over whether he has taken full advantage of Democratic turmoil to present a case for his candidacy, Republicans say. Senator John McCain, greeting World War II veterans after a rally Thursday in Stockton, Calif. In interviews, some party leaders said they were worried about signs of disorder in his campaign, and if the focus in the last several weeks on the prominent role of lobbyists in Mr. McCains inner circle might undercut the heart of his general election message: that he ...

The inspector general for the Defense Department said yesterday that the Pentagon cannot account for almost $15 billion worth of goods and services ranging from trucks, bottled water and mattresses to rocket-propelled grenades and machine guns that were bought from contractors in the Iraq reconstruction effort. The Pentagon did not have the proper documentation, including receipts, vouchers, signatures, invoices or other paperwork, for $7.8 billion that American and Iraqi contractors were paid for phones, folders, paint, blankets, Nissan trucks, laundry services and other items, according to a 69-page audit released to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. Obama would take California in November, Times/KTLA poll finds Post Date: 2008-05-24 00:58:51 by Ferret Mike

Less than four months after losing the California primary, Democrat Barack Obama leads Republican John McCain in projected November general election matchups, a new Los Angeles Times/KTLA Poll has found. Obama, the Illinois senator who has inched close to his party's nomination, would defeat McCain by seven points if the election were held today. New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, whose fortunes have faltered since her Feb. 5 drubbing of Obama in California, would eke out only a three-point victory, the poll found. The poll appeared to illustrate that Democrats, at least in California, are gravitating toward the candidate who is broadly expected to eventually seize the party's mantle. ...
