Two Nobel Prize Economists Recommend Obama by Overseas [Subscribe] Fri Apr 25, 2008 at 05:50:05 AM PDT MSNBC has two Nobel Prize economists on right now. They were asked which of the three - Obama, Clinton or McCain - would be best for the economy, and both replied Obama. Joseph Stiglitz, who was connected to the Clinton presidency and a 2001 prize winner, said that Obama's speech 3 weeks ago on the economy was brilliant. He also said that the deregulation of the markets during Clinton's presidency was a mistake and the markets need to be re-regulated. Edmund Phelps, 2006 prize winner, agreed. We need a new way of looking at the economy and Obama is the one that can do that. We ...
Clinton debt larger than reported Post Date: 2008-04-25 17:22:43 by robin

Hillary Clinton's campaign debt at the end of March was bigger than it appeared because she didn't list the $5 million she loaned herself, a campaign finance watchdog group reported this afternoon. Clinton, in her filing with the Federal Election Commission, reported that her campaign had $9 million in cash on hand as of March 30, and $10 million in debts. "The Clinton campaign itemizes its debts to vendors, totaling $10.3 million by the end of last month, but since January, when Clinton infused her campaign with $5 million, the campaign hasn't been adding in that loan when reporting its overall debt to the Federal Election Commission," the Center for Responsive ...

McCain On Obama: "Clear Who Hamas Wants to be the Next President" April 25, 2008 11:45 AM From The Weekly Standard's Michael Goldfarb: McCain spoke with bloggers this morning on a number of issues ranging from William Ayers to Rev. Wright to Tony Rezko. Jennifer Rubin noted that Hamas had endorsed Senator Obama and asked McCain whether Obama might have given "an unhelpful signal" to the terrorist group. McCain's response: All I can tell you Jennifer is that I think it's very clear who Hamas wants to be the next president of the United States. So apparently has Danny Ortega and several others. I think that people should understand that I will be ...

Wright's defense Obama's former pastor speaks to Bill Moyers: Mr. Wright, who has acted as Mr. Obamas spiritual mentor and retired in February as pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, said that he has never heard Mr. Obama repeat any of his controversial statements. Absolutely not, Mr. Wright said. I dont talk to him about politics. And so he had a political event, he goes out as a politician and says what he has to say as a politician. I continue to be a pastor who speaks to the people of God about the things of God. Mr. Obama publicly denounced Mr. Wrights remarks, a reaction Mr. Wright said went down very ...

The Illinois Democrat received $46,000 in donations from executives and workers last month. In a campaign ad, he said he took no money from oil companies. Sen. Barack Obama continued accepting donations from oil company executives and employees last month even as he aired ads in which he stated he took no oil company money, his campaign finance reports show. Obama has taken at least $263,000 from oil company executives, family members and employees since entering the presidential race last year, including $46,000 last month. At least $140,000 has come in chunks of between $1,000 and $2,300, the maximum permitted under federal law. Related Content 2008 Primary Tracker: Follow the ...

Chris Says: Hillary Clinton is only going to get more awesomely insane as the years drag on. Surrounded by sycophants and veiled in self-delusion and contempt for the actual voters, shes quickly becoming the Norma Desmond of American Politics. Were going to find Howard Wolfson floating face down in the Clinton library reflecting pool at this rate. I am still big! Its the caucuses that got small! April 24th, 2008 at 11:25 am

The role of the President of the United States is to support the decisions that are made by the people of Israel. --Clinton representative, Ann Lewis George W. Bush is not widely regarded as an intelligent man, but he understands that Ann Lewis, the sister of Congressman Barney Frank, was serious when she said that the President of the United States is limited to supporting the decisions of the people of Israel. The Israeli nuclear whistle blower, Mordechai Vanunu, said that Israel killed President John Fitzgerald Kennedy 90 days after refusing him permission to inspect their nuclear works at Dimona. JFK had mistakenly thought that as President of the United States it was his duty to stop ...

"Why Hillary makes my wife scream" by John Aravosis (DC) · 4/24/2008 12:10:00 PM ET A devastating analysis of Hillary from The Nation. This is a snippet, read the entire thing online: My wife Barbara has begun yelling at the television set every time she hears Hillary Clinton. This is abnormal behavior, since Barbara is a meditative practitioner of everything peaceful and organic, and is inspired by Barack Obama's transformational appeal. For Barbara, Hillary has become the screech on the blackboard. From First Lady to Lady Macbeth. It's getting to me as well. Last year, I was somewhat reconciled to the prospect of supporting and pressuring Hillary as the ...
Reid, Pelosi, Dean may intervene in nomination Post Date: 2008-04-24 14:11:02 by christine

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that he may try to force undecided superdelegates to make their decisions in the Democratic presidential race if it stretches into June. Reid said he would consider writing a joint letter with Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) demanding that superdelegates make their endorsements public. The three of us, we may write a joint letter [to superdelegates], said Reid. We might do individual letters. We are in contact with each other. Reid's comments suggest that the partys top three officials are contemplating a high-level intervention if the primary ...

Why Barack Obama will never be president Post Date: 2008-04-24 10:02:23 by christine

If he becomes the Democratic Party's nominee for president, Sen. Barack Obama will lose the general election for this reason: When the smiles and platitudes are set aside, Obama's campaign and the philosophy of his cadre amount to one big put-down of America. Anomalous among Western leaders, the president of the United States serves as head of both state and government. Moreover, he is elected directly by the voters, unlike in a parliamentary system whereby a leader attains power through the success of his party. As such, the president represents something very personal to Americans. He is, for four or more years, the personification of their country, embodying the aspirations and ...
DESPERATE AMERICANS IN PA. VOTE FOR AMERICA'S DESTRUCTION Post Date: 2008-04-24 09:57:34 by christine

With the exception of approximately 128,188 Americans who voted for Congressman Ron Paul in the PA primary, the other 2.7 million voters cast their endorsement for liars, crooks and more big government. Two things that were not mentioned by any of the cable news networks who blatantly censor the truth, is the alleged 91,211 votes cast for Pastor Huckabee who dropped out of the race, March 4, 2008 - a full seven WEEKS before this primary. Pennsylvania is not California in population and it seems to me the State of Pennsylvania had plenty of time to get accurate ballots to the voters - meaning ballots with only legitimate candidates on it. Oh, that's right. We're supposed to believe ...

From The Times April 24, 2008 Yes it's politically incorrect but race matters The Democrats must admit it: Obama would lose to McCain Anatole Kaletsky American Presidential elections have been compared with reality TV series or game shows, in which a gaggle of jumped-up nonentities aspiring to be celebrities are ritually humiliated in public and offered entertaining opportunities to self-destruct, until only one survivor remains. But this time round, a much more elevated analogy is sadly apposite. The 2008 US election has all the makings of a Greek tragedy, in which noble heroes and heroines are forced to follow a course to catastrophe, divinely preordained as punishment for sins ...

A congressional candidate is defending his speech to a group celebrating the anniversary of Adolf Hitler's birth, saying he appeared simply because he was asked. Tony Zirkle, who is seeking the Republican nomination in northern Indiana's 2nd District, stood in front of a painting of Hitler, next to people wearing swastika armbands and with a swastika flag in the background for the speech to the American National Socialist Workers Party in Chicago on Sunday. "I'll speak before any group that invites me," Zirkle said Monday. "I've spoken on an African-American radio station in Atlanta." He compared his speech to other politicians appearing at Bob Jones ...

http://tinyurl.com/5hq8qu The Democrats Have a Nominee By DANIEL HENNINGER April 24, 2008; Page A1 So what? Other than ensuring the Greatest Show on Earth will continue, does it matter that Hillary Clinton defeated Barack Obama Tuesday in Pennsylvania by nine-plus points? Barack Obama is the nominee. No matter how many kicks the rest of us find in such famously fun primary states as Indiana and South Dakota, it's going to be McCain versus Obama in 2008. I believe the cement set around the Clinton coffin last Friday. The Obama campaign announced it had received the support of former Sens. Sam Nunn of North Carolina and David Boren of Oklahoma. Both are what some of us ...

2008 CANDIDATES: CONSTITUENT GUN RIGHTS ACTUALLY MEAN ALL CITIZEN RIGHTS Post Date: 2008-04-23 19:47:22 by christine

We could say that we are discussing Gun Rights, but what we are really elaborating is the concept of all liberty in this country. In various essays, co-author John Longenecker has written that the second amendment is an indicator of the health of all other rights in this country. In essays, co-author Howard Nemerov has discredited many claims of the gun control movement as misleading, wildly emotional, off-topic, or outright wrong. In general, in a time when the armed citizen is becoming a nationwide topic for guns on campus, newsbreaks of armed citizens interrupting a violent crime, and with a gun ban case now before the Supreme Court [D.C. v. Heller], the subject is conspicuous by its ...
