We made it at the Commons building by 7:20 or 7:30, the entire family, minus the 2 pups. I was voter number 6 and Ms. was number 7. All I had to do was to sign on the sheet, because I had voted before. Ms. AVRWC had to produce a photo ID because it was the first time she was voting in this county. There were 3 touch screen machines and no one else using them. We were allowed to let the kids watch. I picked up Obama for the Demo prez and I nominated my dead dog for Attorney General. He would make a good one if he wins the election. After that, I was supposed to pick 5 delegates for Obama from a list of... about 5. Maybe there were 6. The demo rules were that you were supposed to pick 3 guys ...

"It's class warfare and my class is winning." Warren BuffettThe issue of economics is not something Ive understood as well as I should. - John McCain Monday, April 21, 2008John McCain is Bitter and He Clings to Menacing & Assaulting People Increasingly, Senator John McMad, the presumptive GOP candidate for President, is being exposed as a pathologically angry person unfit to be in the Senate much less serve as President of the United States. Therefore, any poll results now showing McCain running neck and neck with Obama and Clinton can be dismissed as irrelevant. The media has yet to turn their attention with any serious and prolonged scrutiny to ...
Small Church's Obama Sign Causes Big Controversy Post Date: 2008-04-21 23:59:16 by christine

JONESVILLE, S.C. -- The sign in front of a small church in a small town is causing a big controversy in Jonesville, S.C. Pastor Roger Byrd said that he just wanted to get people thinking. So last Thursday, he put a new message on the sign at the Jonesville Church of God. It reads: "Obama, Osama, hmm, are they brothers?" Byrd said that the message wasn't meant to be racial or political. "It's simply to cause people to realize and to see what possibly could happen if we were to get someone in there that does not believe in Jesus Christ," he said. When asked if he believes that Barack Obama is Muslim, Byrd said, "I don't know. See it asks a question: ...
Edwards remains silent about presidential pick -- May not endorse either Democrat before the November election Post Date: 2008-04-21 23:52:04 by Ferret Mike

RALEIGH, N.C. - In the four years after his first White House bid, John Edwards stayed in the spotlight. In the four months since he abandoned his second bid, he's all but disappeared. A quick interview with Jay Leno. A couple of low-key speeches. A few North Carolina basketball games with his wife and children. That's about it. If Edwards has made up his mind between Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton, not only is he keeping quiet about it, he's not even putting himself in a position where he might be asked. The silence from Chapel Hill hasn't gone unnoticed. "I'd like a signal. I'd like to know what he thinks," said Gary Pearce, a Democratic ...

Poster Comment:This is weak. Obama has changed his stand on the death penalty now that he is running for President. They should have added the information that Obama tried to make it illegal for the law abiding citizens of Illinois to use guns to defend themselves against home invasions.
Ed Rendell, Clinton Surrogate, Passionately Praised Farrakhan In 1997 Post Date: 2008-04-21 21:58:19 by robin

At last Tuesday's Democratic debate, Sen. Hillary Clinton drew out her objections to Sen. Barack Obama's relationship with his former pastor Reverend Jeremiah Wright, saying that what troubled her was not just Wright's incendiary language, but his past praise for Louis Farrakhan, the controversial head of the Nation of Islam. "It is clear that, as leaders, we have a choice who we associate with and who we apparently give some kind of seal of approval to," said Clinton. "And I think that it wasn't only the specific remarks but some of the relationships with Reverend Farrakhan, with giving the church bulletin over to the leader of Hamas, to put a message ...
Fringe GOP candidate spends Hitler's birthday with neo-Nazis (Someone named Tony Zirkle) Post Date: 2008-04-21 21:51:43 by robin

An outlandish long-shot seeking the Republican nomination for an Indiana congressional seat spent Sunday at a neo-Nazi gathering celebrating the birth of Adolf Hitler. Tony Zirkle is running for the 2nd District GOP nomination, but he has no support from local party officials, and the front-running candidate there refused to even participate in a recent debate with Zirkle, for fear of legitimizing his candidacy. Zirkle said he would speak to any group that invites him, and that he admired the American National Socialist Workers Party's concern about "prostitution of young white women," according to WSBT-TV. Overthrow.com, a Web site associated with the "white ...

Bill Clinton Defends Hillary's Campaign Campaigning with his wife in Pittsburgh's Market Square, Bill Clinton defends his wife against charges she should leave the race. (Video: Ed O'Keefe/washingtonpost.com) By Ed O'Keefe PITTSBURGH -- Following a rally for his wife's campaign at Market Square in Pittsburgh, former president Bill Clinton suggested his wife would already be the nominee -- if she were running under Republican party rules. "If we were under the Republican system, which is more like the Electoral College, she'd have a 300-delegate lead here," he said. "I mean, Senator McCain is already the nominee because they chose a system to ...

Temper? What Temper? By Ariel Alexovich Cindy McCain on The View. (Photo: Steve Fenn/ABC, via Associated Press) Cindy McCain brought up a hot topic stories of her husbands hot temper while dishing to Barbara Walters and the ladies of The View on Monday. (You can watch video of the exchange here.) Ms. Walters asked the potential First Lady and View guest co-host what she considers to be the biggest misconception about her husband, John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. The temper issue, Mrs. McCain said resolutely. You know, he, like anyone whos concerned about America, hes ...

Clinton on Iran: We would "totally obliterate them". by turnover [Subscribe] Mon Apr 21, 2008 at 04:13:47 PM PDT I know that ABC News is incredibly unpopular these days, and rightly so. But I just took a cruise by their website and saw the following headline: Clinton on An Iran Attack: 'Obliterate Them' Uh...what? This comment seemed injudicious at best, so I read further: Clinton further displayed tough talk in an interview airing on Good Morning America Tuesday, ABC News' Chris Cuomo asked Clinton what she would do if Iran attacked Israel with nuclear weapons. "I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president we will attack Iran," Clinton ...

The official explanation: time constraints and logistical issues. The unofficial explanation: Team Barry didnt want to give her a reason to stay in the race if she flames out tomorrow, which makes zero sense. If Indiana and North Carolina arent enough to make her soldier on to May 6th, the prospect of another debate wont either. The real/obvious explanation: He cant afford another beating. Your quote of the day, from the same hypocrites who knocked ABC for not giving them a chance to hear the two sound off on substantive issues: No more debates! I wonder, are the creme de la nutroots creme who signed this letter also cool with ...
Michael Moore backs Obama over 'disgusting' Clinton Post Date: 2008-04-21 17:59:20 by robin

Outspoken documentary film-maker Michael Moore Monday endorsed Democratic White House hopeful Barack Obama, decrying the "downright disgusting" campaign tactics of Hillary Clinton. Moore, whose latest movie "Captain Mike Across America" tracks John Kerry's doomed 2004 bid for the presidency, said he had not given a "rat's ass" who won the nomination this year as long as a Democrat triumphs in November. But having excoriated Clinton for her 2002 vote in support of the Iraq war, the Oscar-winning writer and director now accused the New York senator of "stoking the fears of white America" against the mixed-race Obama. Writing on his website on ...
"Jew-Baiting" (ANDREW SULLIVAN ATTACKED FOR ATTACKING KRISTOL) Post Date: 2008-04-21 16:11:22 by aristeides

"Jew-Baiting" 19 Apr 2008 08:27 pm Attacks from within families are always more hurtful than those from the outside, and so I cannot pretend that Leon Wieseltier's latest personal attack on yours truly isn't painful in the extreme. To be called a "Jew-baiter" in the pages of a magazine I was once proud and honored to edit, and which I love and support, is an extremely wounding blow. It is also untrue and unfair. Here's why Leon accused me of such a thing. I was outraged last week when Bill Kristol publicly called Obama a liar about his own Christian faith. The reason I was outraged is because accusing someone else's sincere profession of faith a fraud ...

I live in Michigan. The party leaders (both here and in D.C.) couldn't get their act together, and thus our votes will not be counted. So, if you live in Pennsylvania, can you do me a favor? Will you please cast my vote -- and yours -- on Tuesday for Senator Barack Obama? I haven't spoken publicly 'til now as to who I would vote for, primarily for two reasons: 1) Who cares?; and 2) I (and most people I know) don't give a rat's ass whose name is on the ...

Bob Barr seeks Libertarian Party nomination April 20, 2008 - 11:26AM Former Republican Congressman turned Libertarian Bob Barr has announced that he is forming a presidential exploratory committee. His decision to make this third-party run may be bad news for the Republican nominee John McCain, but good news for conservatives everywhere. The true conservative candidates who sought the nomination in the Republican race were unable to make it to the top of the heap, leaving the conservative base without one of their own to rally around. And with polls indicating that Barr is considered the frontrunner in a field that numbers about 10, and the candidate most likely to claim the ...

Sam Nunn, Robert Reich, "The Boss" Bruce Springsteen and Former Senator David Boren Endorse Barack Obama for President By JON HOPWOOD, published Apr 21, 2008 Sam Nunn and Robert Reich, two Democratic Party heavyweights, formerly endorsed Barack Obama for President of the United States. The two endorsements were significant as Nunn, a former U.S. Senator from Georgia who served as chair of the Senate Armed Service, had talked of his own third-party bid for the Presidency, and Reich had served as President Bill Clinton's Secretary of Labor under President Bill Clinton. One of the reasons Nunn gave for leaving the Senate in 1997 was that the Democratic Party under Clinton had ...

Democrats must choose Obama Published: April 20 2008 18:59 | Last updated: April 20 2008 18:59 Barack Obama goes into Tuesdays Pennsylvania primary as strong favourite, whatever happens, to secure the Democratic presidential nomination. Yet the vote could still go either way. This is a sign of how close this race has been and how deeply it has divided the party. Mr Obama and Hillary Clinton are both strong candidates and each appeals powerfully to distinct segments of Democratic support. This has heightened the risk of bitter division. After Tuesdays vote, the Democrats should move quickly to affirm Mr Obamas nomination. That is not just because his lead in elected ...

CLINTON INTERNALS SHOW 11-POINT LEAD IN PA Mon Apr 21 2008 11:10:14 ET **Exclusive** Controlled excitement is building inside of Clinton's inner circle as closely guarded internal polling shows the former first lady with an 11-point lead in Pennsylvania! Clinton is polling near to nearly 2 to 1 over Obama in many regions of the state, a top insider explained to the DRUDGE REPORT. A strong coalition of middle-class and religious voters has all but secured a Clinton victory Tuesday, with headline-making margins, the campaign believes. "It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of how much," a senior campaign source said Monday morning. When pressed if the ...
Superdelegates Less Bound By Primaries Post Date: 2008-04-21 12:29:20 by Peppa

WASHINGTON Many of the Democratic superdelegates who are still undecided say the most important factor in their decision is simple, they just want a winner in November. Problem is, after nearly four months of primaries and caucuses in 46 states, territories, and the District of Columbia, they still arent sure who that is, dont seem be in any hurry to make up their minds, and arent interested in any artificial process that might force them to choose between senators Obama and Clinton. Most of the more than 100 undecided superdelegates who discussed their decision-making with the Associated Press in the past two weeks agreed that the primaries and caucuses do ...

AFFIRMATIVE ACTION: THE FLAWED REMEDY From:Growth StrategiesDate:June 1, 2005Author:AnonymousMore results for:ivy league schools and affirmative action failure Supporters of affirmative action argue that racial preferences are necessary if blacks and other minorities are to take their rightful place in society. They argue, further, that any institution or organization where the percentage of minorities does not match their representation in the general population is, by definition, discriminatory. In July 2003, the US Supreme Court seemed to agree, allowing the use of explicit racial preferences in law school admissions (Grutter v. Bollinger). In a scathing critique of the majority opinion ...
