'I Could Look Like George Zimmerman'
Post Date: 2012-03-27 08:50:48 by Ada

President Obama's comment, "If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon," is one curious statement for a President of the United States, who is a supposed Constitutional scholar. It borders on inciting angry man justice and panders to the lowest unthinking masses in America. Instead of using the incident as a "teaching moment", to teach that facts are gathered around a possible crime and, if determined necessary, decided in court before an impartial jury as to guilt or innocence, the President says nothing close. He panders to the angry crowd. I have no idea what went on between Zimmerman and Trayvon. Let the facts come out. But the facts, to date, suggest there is ...

Democracy and Violence

Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard. ~ H.L. Mencken A staunchly-defended article of faith in Western political rhetoric is the belief that democratic governments do not engage in wars with one another. This belief has been promoted for the purpose of generating trust in the state. If political systems are democratically constituted, it is contended, the public need not fear government officials whose powers could be taken away by the same electoral process that put them in office. The American Civil War, wherein the democratically-established federal and confederate states warred with one another would seem to put this ...

What Is Really Going On in Syria
Post Date: 2012-03-26 07:53:28 by Ada

Syria's murky, multi-level conflict continues to grow worse. So does public confusion here in the west as the US, British and some European media keep depicting Syria's civil war as a simple passion play pitting the evil Asad regime in Damascus against mostly unarmed democratic protestors. We saw this same one-dimensional, deceptive reporting recently in Libya that was designed to support foreign intervention. It's as incomplete today about Syria as it was in Libya which, by the way, is turning into a dangerous mess. My assessment based on reliable primary sources in Washington, Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon: Support for the Asad family's Ba'ath regime, now in power for ...

Postman: Ayers family put 'foreigner' Obama through school
Post Date: 2012-03-20 11:59:23 by Ada

Claims he met young Barack who boasted he'd someday be president Did Ayers’ mother believe Obama was a foreign student? And was the young Obama convinced at the time – long before he even entered politics – that he was going to become president of the United States? A retired U.S. Postal Service carrier who delivered mail to Tom and Mary Ayers in a Chicago suburb in the late 1980s and early 1990s and claims to have met Obama in front of the Ayers home emphatically says yes to all three questions. Allen Hulton, who was commended for 39 years of honorable service with the USPS, has given a sworn affidavit to investigators commissioned by Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff ...

Demolishing Due Process

It is ironic but perhaps sadly appropriate that Attorney General Eric Holder would choose a law school, Northwestern University, to deliver a speech earlier this month in which he demolished what was left of the rule of law in America. In what history likely will record as a turning point, Holder bluntly explained that this administration believes it has the authority to use lethal force against Americans if the president determines them to be a threat to the nation. He tells us that this is not a violation of the due process requirements of our Constitution because the president himself embodies “due process” as he unilaterally determines who is to be targeted. As Holder said, ...

ABC Posts Results of Tuesday's GOP Primary...MONDAY NIGHT!!!

ABC has just one-upped the BBC's reporting of Tower 7's collapse 15 minutes prior to the controlled demolition on 9/11. Tuesday, 3/20/12 is the Illinois GOP Primary election. Interestingly, ABC has posted the results of the primary prior to a single vote being cast, reporting 3% of the vote for Ron Paul with 100% of precincts reporting. How nice of ABC to provide us free use of its flux capacitor technology to see the future of primary voting. The Doc could use some help with his bracket as well, perhaps ABC could lend a hand? *Update 2:01 AM EST: Less than 25 minutes after our post, the ABC page cannot be found Click for Full Text!Poster Comment:NOTHING TO SEE HERE SHEEPSTERS! ...

Police Intervene, Arrest Ron Paul Backers at Missouri Caucus
Post Date: 2012-03-17 21:30:31 by Buzzard

Police and organizers shut down proceedings at one of Missouri's largest caucuses today, as Ron Paul supporters feuded with local GOP leaders. "It's like the Hatfields and the McCoys around here," St. Charles County's former GOP chairman told ABC News, after police arrived on-scene with a helicopter and removed Paul backers. In St. Charles, an exurb of St. Louis and one of the state's largest GOP counties, Paul supporters sought to elect their own chairman and adopt their own rules when proceedings opened - both of which are part of standard caucus rules and procedure. But as they argued with the caucus chair, Paul supporters held video cameras - against caucus ...

For Ron Paul, winning isn't everything

By Brian Montopoli Topics Campaign 2012 . Republican presidential candidate, Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas speaks at the University of Missouri, Thursday, March 15, 2012, in Columbia, Mo. (Credit: AP) At this point, it's clear that Texas Rep. Ron Paul is most likely not going to be the next president of the United States. Paul has yet to win a single contest (with one semi-exception), and CBS News estimates that he holds just 42 delegates - less than one tenth the delegates held by frontrunner Mitt Romney. Earlier this week, the last embedded reporter who had been covering Paul full time was pulled off the trail. By the standards of the standard goal of a presidential run - actually ...

Ron Paul’s Hour of Decision [Full Thread]

Is Ron Paul running for president in the wrong party? The results of the GOP primaries, so far, would certainly seem to suggest that. Paul’s support draws heavily from two constituencies one doesn’t normally associate with the Republican party: young voters, who are overwhelmingly independents, and antiwar voters, who tend to be Democrats. He has carried the youth vote and garnered a significant proportion of independents in virtually every contest: more significantly, polls show him beating President Obama in the general election by winning a huge portion of the independent and youth votes. Combined with the anybody-but-Obama vote, Paul’s potential base of support in a ...

Obama’s personal role in a journalist’s imprisonment

(updated below – Update II) Jeremy Scahill, The Nation‘s national security correspondent, is easily one of America’s best and most intrepid journalists. He spends his time in dangerous places in order to uncover what the U.S. Government is doing around the world. He often produces vital scoops that, during the Obama presidency, are — for reasons often recounted here — largely ignored by the American establishment media and both political parties. In July of last year, he returned from Mogadishu and documented the Obama administration’s maintenance and proxy operation of secret CIA-run prisons in Somalia of the type that caused so much controversy during the ...

"I would also say of Ron Paul – he doesn't need to win. In his view he is winning already. This is an ideological point he is making. But here's why it's electorally significant – a lot of people, I mean 41 percent in Virginia, only two people on the ballot, still a lot of people voted for Ron Paul. A lot of those voters are portable. They're not Republican – they're not dedicated Republican voters." – Tucker Carlson, Editor, The Daily Caller It is time for a groundswell of Ron Paul supporters to quietly, respectfully but firmly make their position clear to the mainstream media and the GOP establishment. Simply put, "No Paul on the ...

Do you hate America? A question asked of me by an old man when he saw the Ron Paul for President decal on my car [Full Thread]

Really. I was shopping at the local Sprouts market this evening. As I was loading my groceries, a white bearded old man (he looked just like The Grandfather in the old film, Heidi) who was collecting the carts in the parking lot stopped and asked me, "do you hate America?" I looked at him and replied, "Excuse me?" At first I thought he was being facetious, but then he asked me again, "do you hate America?" while pointing to the decal. He then said, "He (Ron Paul) is going to start a revolution. You must hate America if you are for Him because He is going to rip the country right up the middle within a year. The man (Ron Paul) is an old fool. He's an ...

The mainstream media got the Super Tuesday story wrong. Very wrong. Again. I'm sure you heard them gleefully talk about which establishment candidate "won" which primary or caucus on Tuesday. The fact is no candidate for President has even made it 1/3 of the way toward the number of delegates needed to win the nomination. And for that reason I am determined to proudly battle on - picking up more delegates and skewering the pretensions and historical rewrites of ALL the establishment candidates – Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich. And I will continue to proudly speak up for liberty, respect for the Constitution in domestic and foreign policy and a return to ...

Ron Paul's pointless Internet presidency

Four years ago, the shrewdest presidential candidates used YouTube, MySpace, Facebook and a dash of Twitter. They also tried to gain a strange new psychic edge called—in the contrived conceit of the day—"mindshare in the blogosphere." Apps were nowhere in campaign strategies. The iPhone was new. The iPad didn't exist. So who e-campaigned best last time? During Super Tuesday week in 2008, Garlik, a British firm that monitors digital reputations, ranked the day's presidential candidates by online popularity. It didn't take Nate Silver or that Zogby person to call the winner. If you hung around social media even a little, you knew the fix was in. It wasn't ...

Can the President Kill You?
Post Date: 2012-03-08 08:20:19 by Ada

Can the president kill an American simply because the person is dangerous and his arrest would be impractical? Can the president be judge, jury, and executioner of an American in a foreign country because he believes that would keep America safe? Can Congress authorize the president to do this? Earlier this week, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder attempted to justify presidential killing in a speech at Northwestern University law school. In it, he recognized the requirement of the Fifth Amendment for due process. He argued that the president may substitute the traditionally understood due process — a public jury trial — with the president’s own novel version of it; that ...

Energy Independence: But At What Cost?
Post Date: 2012-03-07 08:13:27 by Ada

Politicians are arguing for elimination of $4 billion of tax breaks for oil companies. But how disingenuous these efforts are! The public is paying to re-tool the American oil industry via higher prices at the pump, to subsidize fracking (hydraulic fracturing) technology that tap into shale bed oil. This method of extracting oil from shale is more costly and essentially perpetuates high oil prices. Yes, America may become more energy independent, but with real inflation at 7-10% (ShadowStats.com) and high rates of unemployment, $5-6 gasoline may be the straw that broke the camel’s back. Yes, money that would normally flow to foreign oil producers will now stay at home, but who can ...

War, Social Values, and Ron Paul
Post Date: 2012-03-07 07:31:36 by Ada

Is supporting war more important for evangelicals than their social values? Isn't Ron Paul a social conservative? He opposes abortion, gay marriage and promiscuous sex, he has never been divorced and certainly supports family values, but he believes in limited government. Two of his brothers are ministers. Why then are evangelical leaders now opting for Santorum, and before him Gingrich? The one big area of disagreement with Ron Paul is war; foreign wars and the domestic one against drugs. For this they oppose him. Santorum supports unending war in Afghanistan, backing Israel without limit and a new war against Iran. Earlier there was a major far leftist candidate who supported all the ...
