Why Obama should be worried Post Date: 2012-02-02 12:55:48 by Flintlock

Why Obama should be worried The assumption of a decisive Obama fall-fundraising advantage might be flat wrong. | AP Photo To hear Democrats (and much of the media) tell it, President Barack Obama is a man on the rebound. The president turned in a strong State of the Union speech, picked a smart political fight over taxing the rich and authorized another heroic Navy SEAL mission in terrorist territory. Sounds like a recipe for reelection, they say. There is a big problem with this Pollyanna punditry: There are a bunch of real-time numbers coming in that tell a much different tale. In short, theres a new Congressional Budget Office report that shows unemployment likely to climb to ...
For Romney and Paul, a strategic alliance between establishment and outsider Post Date: 2012-02-02 12:25:55 by Flintlock

For Romney and Paul, a strategic alliance between establishment and outsider RENO, NEV. The remaining candidates in the winnowed Republican presidential field are attacking one another with abandon, each day bringing fresh headlines of accusations and outrage. But Mitt Romney and Ron Paul havent laid a hand on each other. They never do. Despite deep differences on a range of issues, Romney and Paul became friends in 2008, the last time both ran for president. So did their wives, Ann Romney and Carol Paul. The former Massachusetts governor compliments the Texas congressman during debates, praising Pauls religious faith during the last one, in Jacksonville, Fla. ...
Did Snoop Dogg Endorse Ron Paul On Facebook? Post Date: 2012-02-02 10:33:03 by Buzzard

Does Snoop Dogg Plan On Voting For Ron Paul? Musician Kelly Clarkson likes Presidential Candidate Ron Paul. Actor Vince Vaughn and singer Barry Manilow like him too. In at least an indirect way, Snoop Dogg also likes Ron Paul. Media reports that go as far as saying that Snoop Dogg endorsed Ron Paul for United States President might be a bit of a stretch. All of the buzz was created by a picture that Snoop Dogg posted on his Facebook page. Or at least someone from his staff did. I highly doubt Snoop Dogg manages his own Facebook fan page. The picture is posted below: The caption of the photo reads Because I said so. According to ABC News, Snoop Doggs ...

One of Newt Gingrich's goons broke the foot of a Ron Paul supporter because said supporter had the nerve to hold up a sign for Ron. Apparently the man was wearing what are called flip flops by most people but they are also known as sandals. Marguerite (on LP) thought it strange, or seemed to, that someone would be wearing sandals in January. But it was clear in the article that it was in FLORIDA!!! News flash, Marguerite, it is a tropical climate in Florida, it is not like the guy was walking around barefoot at the North Pole! #9. To: All (#0) Gingrich was greeted by Dillard, who held his Paul sign as Gingrich supporters rallied around their candidate. One Gingrich security staffer ...
Ron Paul's Explosive Nevada Speech Post Date: 2012-02-02 06:01:29 by Tatarewicz

Despite a forth place finish in Florida, Ron Paul seems more energized than ever in the following speech to supporters in Nevada. "If enthusiasm wins elections, we win HANDS DOWN," Paul shouted over uproarious applause. On a night where Mitt Romney took Florida's delegates it was Paul who seemed to have the most momentum. He is traveling the country, hitting all-important caucus states like Nevada and Colorado. He did not bother to campaign in Florida and actually had no Florida campaign staff at all. The strategy is paying off, as some analysts suggest that Paul could move into second place in the delegate count by the middle of February. "If you have an energized ...

TAMPA, Fla.Mitt Romney had been set to hold a morning rally here to mark the arrival of Election Day, but his campaign canceled the event Monday night without much explanation. Speculation among the press corps was that Romney wanted to end his Florida primary push with the image of a big rallyand last night, he got it. The former Massachusetts governor attracted one of his biggest crowds of the campaign, as several thousand people showed up to hear him speak at The Villages, a retirement community in central Florida. Standing in front of a massive sign that read "Florida is Romney Country," Romney at one point led the crowd in singing "America the ...

The Military and Those Strange Threats to Obama Post Date: 2012-01-28 17:08:34 by Ada

ARTICLE SUMMARY Small, bad things seem to (almost) happen to Obama; they get little sustained attention from reporters or the public. But theres something odd about them, and theyre worrisome for the White House. Of course, the corporate media will dismiss it as nothing at all. Yet theres a disturbing military/security thread running through it alland as we approach the 50th anniversary of JFKs demise, wed be smart to err on the side of caution. Heres a crazy story that has gotten little attention in the United States: During Barack Obamas recent visit to Canberra, the Australian capital, a reporter happened upon a classified booklet ...

If The TSA Will Treat Senator Rand Paul Like A Scumbag, What Will They Do TO YOU? Post Date: 2012-01-28 15:49:29 by X-15

On Monday, U.S. Senator Rand Paul was detained by the TSA for about two hours at an airport in Nashville. By doing so, TSA officials directly violated the U.S. Constitution and they demonstrated once again why the rest of the world is coming to regard us as a bunch of disgusting, arrogant "pig people". Do we really want to get such a bad reputation that virtually nobody will ever want to visit this country? We are going to absolutely destroy our tourism industry with this nonsense. Yes, we all want to fly safely, but other countries get the job done without their security officials running around acting like a bunch of Nazi prison guards. The TSA should be shut down, but if ...

@MentionMachine tracks the presidential candidates: Who’s up, who’s down on Twitter? Post Date: 2012-01-28 05:37:53 by GreyLmist

@MentionMachine is a new Washington Post news app that monitors Twitter and media across the Web for political candidate mentions, revealing trends and spikes that show where the conversation is and why. It launched Jan. 3, the day of the Iowa caucuses, and will run through the presidential election in November. There are a few ways Twitter variables, or mentions, can be measured or extrapolated to examine trends in campaigns. Growth in number of legitimate followers or a high recurrence of retweets are both indicative of growing grass-roots support. A spike in the number of times a candidate is mentioned on Twitter might signal an event that could alter a campaign. There are many ...

LEWISTON Urgent message to Rep. Ron Paul: You're going to need a bigger hall. At the Ramada Inn on Friday night, it wasn't just standing-room only. It was shoulder to shoulder and elbow to elbow, and that was a full hour before the presidential hopeful had arrived. "We may have to take that wall down," local conservative activist Paul Madore said a half-hour before Paul was due to speak. "And put up some chairs." They did remove the wall, doubling the size of the room. Still, the space was crammed full as several hundred people showed up early and a few more trickled in late. And if anything was more striking than the size of the crowd, it was the ...

Ron Paul calls for diplomatic relations with Cuba Post Date: 2012-01-27 08:37:29 by Ada

Ron Paul took a risky position in Florida in Thursdays debate, calling for communication and diplomatic relations with Cuba, saying that people's positions have changed dramatically over the last few years. Paul said that Cuba isnt going to invade the U.S. any time soon, and that Americans werent looking under their beds anymore, worried. Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich followed by pledging to continue the economic embargo on Cuba and to take any action short of military invasion to upend the government of Raul Castro. Pauls position is a potentially dangerous one in Florida, a state with a influential voting bloc of conservative Republicans from Cuba who have ...

It appears Ron is raising money to campaign against the TSA. Can't think of any agency, perhaps other than the collection agency for the bankers at the Fed (the IRS) that is a better target to be disbanded. It appears the goal is a quarter of a million and he has something like 242,000 now. END THE TSA NOW!

As Jon Huntsman said before dropping out of the primary race, the United States spends about as much as the rest of the world put together on defense. Our on-budget military spending is around 45% of world defense expenditure. But then we have a ~$75 billion black budget, a Veterans Administration budget of 132.2 billion, on-budget foreign aid of 53.3 billion, and off-budget Federal-Reserve foreign aid in frankly unbelievable amounts. So a hundred billion here, a hundred billion there, and we end up spending as much as all the rest of the worlds armies and air forces put together. The US has military programs to address threats that dont even exist. We have the F-35 ...

Filmmaker Oliver Stone would vote for Ron Paul over Obama Post Date: 2012-01-24 14:10:50 by Ada

Filmmaker Oliver Stone, known for his liberal political views, said he would vote for GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul over President Obama should Paul win the Republican nomination. In an interview with Rock Cellar magazine, Stone was asked if an economic collapse would lead to the fall of the American empire. I think its a given, Stone said. Theres no way that we can continue this spending spree. In fact, I think in many ways the most interesting candidate Id even vote for him if he was running against Obama is Ron Paul. Because hes the only one of anybody whos saying anything intelligent about the future of ...
