Oleson represents the second-most populous county in Iowa and has many Republican, civic affiliations ANKENY, Iowa The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced today that Linn County Supervisor Brent Oleson has endorsed Ron Paul for the presidency. Attracted to Congressman Pauls commitment, character, and courage Mr. Oleson said, Ron Paul has the principals and conviction necessary to solve our national budget woes. With our national debt over $14 trillion, the spending by Washington D.C. continues to mortgage the fruits of our labor to fund programs we dont need and cant afford. Ron Paul puts people before politics and will work to ensure that our ...

WHO WON LAST NIGHTS DEBATE??? Post Date: 2011-12-16 17:29:18 by ambi

Tried to watch fox's coverage of the debate at 2:30 am. Listened to the hateful swill and hatchet job the local Iowa tv crew were trying to lay on Ron Paul 1/2 hour before the debate was to start. Less than 5 minutes to go, my computer dissed the coverage. I rebooted and tried a second time and got the same result having to listen to their BS a second time. I then wend to GCN LIVE and it wouldn't let me log in. I wondered if it was with my local ISP which is a cable company. I believe it is possible my ISP is in cahoots with the rest of the swine trying to marginalize Ron Paul because every where else I went on the computer I had absolutely no trouble. It is also strange that noone ...

Thursday Night: Fox News GOP Pres. Primary Debate Post Date: 2011-12-15 13:12:07 by christine

Thursday night, Fox News will be holding another critical debate in Iowa that appears to be the final debate of 2011. In addition, it will likely be the last chance for candidates to make their case before the Iowa caucuses on Jan. 3, 2012. In attendance will be the remaining seven Republican presidential hopefuls: Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, and Rick Santorum. The three Iowa frontrunners, Romney, Gingrich, and the oft-forgotten Paul, are neck-and-neck heading into Thursdays debate. Romney has been fairly steady, and Paul and his loyal supporters have been gathering steam as of late. Meanwhile, Gingrichs popularity took a ...
Ron Paul's Tea Party Day Money Bomb December 16, 2012 Post Date: 2011-12-15 07:57:40 by Buzzard

On December 16, 2007 - the anniversary of the 1773 Boston Tea Party - Ron Paul supporters shocked the political world by raising over $6 million in one single day. Some experts say that incredible money bomb set off the modern Tea Party movement. But there's no doubt it helped bring us to the point we're at today, where Dr. Paul is a top-tier contender for the Republican nomination. That's why we need to make the December 16 Tea Party Money Bomb a massive success. I hope you'll pledge to contribute as generously as you can AND commit to calling at least three of your friends urging them to contribute, as well! Ron Paul calls for criminal charges against Eric Holder. Post Date: 2011-12-14 20:42:06 by Phant2000

Just days ago, CBS national news printed new details about Department of Justice operation "Fast & Furious." Internal memos show that agents actually discussed using the operation as a "false flag" to justify taking away the 2nd amendment rights of US citizens. Congress is currently investigating Fast & Furious. Attorney General Eric Holder has already been caught making at least one false statement under oath. Gun rights advocates have been asking why Republicans aren't calling for criminal charges against Eric Holder. Many have criticized FOX News for giving the story little coverage. CBS national news has been breaking most of the new details related to ...
Ron Paul Set to Take Iowa and NH Post Date: 2011-12-14 20:25:49 by James Deffenbach

Even the New York Times is obliged to admit, if dismissively, that Ron Paul has a good chance in Iowa. Ross Douthat writes for the Gray Lady today that Paul is neck-to-neck with Newt Gingrich in the caucus state while the former front-runner Mitt Romney trails in the shadows. Predictably, the Times scrivener takes the opportunity to elevate the establishment candidate Gingrich while softly berating Ron Paul, but this does not negate the fact Ron Paul is, as Douthat's title suggests, on the rise and will likely jostle past Gingrich in the days ahead. On Tuesday, a Public Policy Polling survey showed him one percentage point behind Gingrich for the lead in Iowa. Paul took 21 percent in ...

POLL BOMBSHELL: Ron Paul Is Close To A Win In Iowa [Full Thread] Post Date: 2011-12-13 16:23:06 by christine

Ron Paul, the once-forgotten presidential candidate, is picking up steam in Iowa and now appears poised to overtake frontrunner Newt Gingrich, according to a new survey released today from the left-leaning Public Policy Polling. The poll finds support for Gingrich has slipped to 22%, with Ron Paul just behind with 21%. Mitt Romney trails in third place with 16%. That's a five-point drop in favorability for Gingrich, who has raced to the top of the Republican presidential field over the past month. PPP found Gingrich's favorability numbers have fallen 19 points over the past week. Meanwhile, support for Paul is on the rise, particularly among younger voters and voters who identify ...

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Long before he discovered Friedrich Hayek and other free-market economists, Ron Paul got a lesson in sound money from his oldest brother, Bill. It was the height of World War II, and the Paul boys were laying aside quarters from their Pittsburgh Press routes and pooling pennies earned from pulling dirty milk bottles off the line at the family dairy to buy war bonds. One day, Ronnie suggested what was, in retrospect, a rather Keynesian solution: "Why doesn't the government just PRINT this money?" "Well," Bill responded, "then the money wouldn't have any value." Bill was 10. Ron was about 7. Washington bureaucrats, Paul says now, ...
Ron Paul Just Nabbed Iowa's Biggest Youth Endorsement Post Date: 2011-12-12 21:17:25 by Ada

He may be the oldest candidate in the Republican race, but Ron Paul is the only one who has any street cred with the party's youngest voters. As Paul's popularity among America's youth grows, his campaign has increasingly made young voters the cornerstone of his grassroots White House bid, deploying armies of starry-eyed college students to knock on doors and donate their beer money to help spread the Paul gospel. These efforts are now paying off. Earlier today Paul nabbed the endorsement of The Daily Iowan, the student newspaper at the University of Iowa. The paper's editorial board writes: "Paul is a candidate who appeals to voters across the political spectrum. ...
The surprising candidacy of Ron Paul Post Date: 2011-12-12 15:18:49 by Ferret

In a year of flameouts, nonstarters and unfulfilled potential, one Republican presidential candidate is clearly exceeding expectations. His name is Ron Paul. He is eccentric and sometimes appears a little cranky, but the septuagenarian candidate has done several things that Mitt Romney cant claim. He has raised more money in this campaign than in his last (Romney has raised more than Paul but less than he did in 2008). He has enlarged his base of support and has risen in the polls over the course of the year. Nobody thinks Paul is going to win the Republican nomination. His antiwar, anti-interventionist views on foreign policy put him well out of the Republican mainstream. Some of ...
Paul rips Romney, Gingrich as 'from the same mold' Post Date: 2011-12-11 16:19:35 by Ada

Texas Rep. Ron Paul slammed Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney on Sunday, saying they were inconsistent politicians who represent the status quo. They come from the same mold, he said on Meet the Press. Theyre about the same. Theyre both on the defensive, theyre both explaining themselves
Why should we have a nominee that is going to spend most of the their time explaining themselves and deciding what position they were on and when? (Watch video below.) I think if you are consistent it speaks for itself, Paul said. You know nobody ever challenges me and I dont have to brag about it either because everybody ...

On Oct. 12, 1948, the campaign train of Tom Dewey, the Republican nominee against President Harry Truman, pulled into Beaucoup, Ill., where, from the rear platform, he would speak to about 1,000 people. Before he began, the engineer mistakenly caused the train to lurch a few feet backward, frightening some but injuring none. Dewey, however, hurt himself by angrily saying into the microphone, Thats the first lunatic Ive had for an engineer. He probably ought to be shot at sunrise. Deweys cold arrogance (Truman biographer David McCulloughs description) reinforced the publics impression of an unsympathetic and prickly politician. Truman ...

What if Ron Paul Wins the Iowa Caucus? Post Date: 2011-12-08 18:17:31 by Jethro Tull

Ron Paul's PAC recently started pushing the results of a commissioned poll saying that their man is now in the lead in the Iowa. In the poll, Paul has 22 percent of support among Iowans while Romney is at 17 percent in the Hawkeye state. Earlier this month a Bloomberg poll found Ron Paul in the top tier in Iowa. Nearly everyone in the field has gotten a chance to be a GOP frontrunner -- sorry Huntsman, sorry Santorum. So why shouldn't Paul get his 15 minutes on the revolving carousel after Trump, Bachmann, Perry, Cain and now Newt? It is not inconceivable that Ron Paul's timing -- his campaign upsurge -- has the good fortune of reaching its peak just as the Iowa straw caucus ...
