The FBI's Snipe Hunts Post Date: 2023-05-03 09:45:47 by Ada

When I was in the Boy Scouts, we used to send new scouts on a snipe hunt during their first campout. It was a search through the woods for a made-up creature that didnt exist. The exercise was a good-natured joke to welcome them to the troop. (Note: Snipes are a real bird, but that doesnt change the joke). Snipe hunting is also a gag the FBI plays on itself. Only the FBI calls the snipes white supremacist domestic terrorists -- which are apparently harder to find than Boy Scout snipes. The feds use the white supremacist qualifier to avoid catching any BLM, Antifa, pro-abortion, or LGBTQ terrorists in their dragnet. But parents, and others of a ...
E. Jean Carroll's Trump-bashing Post Date: 2023-05-03 09:42:07 by Ada

According to the May 2 New York Times, on the last day of her testimony in her civil suit against Donald J. Trump alleging rape, E. Jean Carroll insisted that she was fired as advice columnist for Elle because President Trump called her a liar, not because she gave an excerpt of her book to rival New York magazine. This question immediately came to mind: would a New York City-based editor dismiss a columnist because Trump called her a liar? That question was answered by this follow-up question: In media circles, isn't criticism from Pres. Trump considered a badge of honor? A Google search did not result in many Elle articles on Trump. But there was this one: "Are You Going to ...
Army Expects to Miss Its Recruiting Goal Again This Year Post Date: 2023-05-03 09:38:29 by Horse

The Army does not expect to hit its ambitious recruiting goal of 65,000 new soldiers this year as the pool of young Americans eligible to serve continues to shrink. "We are not going to make that goal," Army Secretary Christine Wormuth told lawmakers at a congressional hearing Tuesday. "We are doing everything we can to get as close to it as possible; we are going to fall short." The Army fell some 15,000 active-duty recruits short last year of its goal of 60,000 new troops. The Army National Guard is in a seemingly deeper hole, facing an uphill battle bringing new soldiers in while simultaneously seeing retention issues with part-time soldiers heading for the exits ...

person military army banner musician parade 1015659 pxhere.com American government and media statements have led the public to believe that the Russian military has been shockingly ineffective and there should confident optimism for a Ukrainian victory. Ukrainians have indeed fought courageously and performed above expectation. But there has been a vast gulf between private and public assessments. Recent leaks have confirmed what has long been suggested: there is a need to re-evaluate the performance of the Russian army and to recalibrate the optimistic expectations. The ridiculing and mocking of the Russian military has been possible only because of a deliberate self-delusion that ...
IDF probes into Iron Dome's lackluster performance after another rocket leak Post Date: 2023-05-03 08:28:39 by Horse

Israeli citizens have learned to count on the protective umbrella of the Iron Dome to defend them from enemy rockets in times of cross-border strife, but the air defense system's growing fail rate in intercepting incoming threats has raised concern among the Israeli military's High Command. Poster Comment:Mike Rivero: It's actually rather simple. The rockets made in Gaza are not precise. As they fly, they "wobble" and corkscrew through the sky. The Iron Dome system cannot predict where they are going to calculate an interception point. Russian missiles take evasive trajectories by design. A Jewish American professor said Israel should not fire missiles at Gaza ...

Pepe Escobar: What China Is Really Playing At In Ukraine Post Date: 2023-05-03 02:24:33 by Horse

Authored by Pepe Escobar, Beijing is fully aware the NATO proxy war against Russia in Ukraine is the un-dissociable double of the U.S. war against its Belt and Road Initiative. Imagine President Xi Jinping mustering undiluted Taoist patience to suffer through a phone call with that warmongering actor in a sweaty T-shirt in Kiev while attempting to teach him a few facts of life complete with the promise of sending a high-level Chinese delegation to Ukraine to discuss peace. Theres way more than meets the discerning eye obscured by this spun-to-death diplomatic victory at least from the point of view of NATOstan. The question is inevitable: ...

Six of Camden Countys top elected officials are refusing to cooperate with the ATF who seek zoning information that they claim they need to complete applications for new gun stores. In a letter sent to the ATFs office in Kansas City, Camden County presiding commissioner Ike Skelton pointed to a local ordinance which bans county employees from working with the agency, known as the Anti- Commandeering Doctrine. Ukraine calls for boycott of popular Irish whiskey Post Date: 2023-05-02 18:50:33 by Horse

Ukraines Ambassador to Ireland, Larisa Gerasko, has called for a boycott of Jameson whiskey after the brand re-entered the Russian market, albeit to a limited degree. Jameson, owned by the French company Pernod Ricard, resumed sales in Russia late last year, citing the need to protect its local teams, as well as to avoid facing legal trouble over intentional bankruptcy in the country. Gerasko, however, has rejected the rationale, calling for a boycott of the brand until it withdraws completely from Russia. On the one hand, this company wants to protect a few employees, but tens of thousands of Ukrainians, every single day, have been killed by Russia, the ...
