Several years ago, my wife and I visited a distillery in rural Virginia that made the only whiskey in the Old Dominion that possesses legislative approval to make something called “Virginia Whiskey.” It’s a good product, though it requires the taster to accept the fact that it doesn’t taste much like Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (I’d offer there are hints of apple therein). Now A Drug Even Deadlier Is Popping Up The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office issued a public alert Thursday that the drug had been found in the state. According to local news outlet KKCO, the drug, N-pyrrolidino Etonitazene, further recognized by the street name PYRO, is 1,000-1,500 times more powerful than morphine. A report from Iowa State University shows that rural Americans are feeling the pain of inflation more than the rest of the country. “Rural households are more vulnerable to inflation,” the report said. “In 2020, rural household post‐tax incomes stood at $58,012. About 82% of rural incomes went towards expenses, leaving $10,661 in discretionary income for savings and unanticipated expenses. However, by 2022 expenses rose by 18.5% overall.
