DO THE BARTMAN - 16/02/1991 3 weeks at #1 - 12 weeks on chart

Bart, Bart, BART, BART I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove anything

Yo, Hey what's happenin' dude I'm a guy with a rep for bein' rude Terrorizin' people wherever I go It's not intentional, just keepin' the flow

Fixin' test scores to get the best scores Droppin' banana peels all over the floor I'm the kid that made delinquency an art Last name Simpson, first name Bart

I'm here today to introduce the next phase The next step, in the big Bart craze I've got a dance real easy to do I learned it with no rythm and so can you

So move your body if you got the notion Front to back in a rock-like motion Now thacha got it if you think that you can Do it to the music, that's the Bartman

Everybody if you can do the Bartman Shake your body turn it out if you're bad man Ah front to back to the side yes you can, can Everybody in the house do the Bartman Everybody if you can do the Bartman Shake your body turn it out if you're bad man Front to back to the side yes you can, can Everybody in the house do the Bartman

It wasn't long ago, just a couple of weeks I got in trouble, yeah, pretty deep Homer was yellin' (Bart) Mom was too Because I put mothballs in the beef stew

Punishment time, in the air lurks gloom Sittin' by myself confined to my room When all else fails nothin' else left to do I turn on the music so I can feel the groove

Move your body if you got the notion Front to back in a rock-like motion Move your hips from side to side now Doncha slip, let your feet glide now

If you've got the groove you gotta use it Rock-rhythm in time with the music You just might start a chain reaction If you can do the Bart you're bad like Michael Jackson

Everybody if you can do the Bartman Shake your body turn it out if you're bad man Front to back to the side yes you can, can Everybody in the house do the Bartman Everybody if you can do the Bartman Shake your body turn it out if you're bad man Front to back to the side yes you can, can Everybody in the house do the Bartman

Do the Bartman Do the Bartman, Everybody back and forth From side to side Do the Bartman Do the Bartman, Pick your feet up off the floor Let 'em glide Do the Bartman Do the Bartman, She can do it, you can do it So can I Do the Bartman Do the Bartman, Now here's a dance beat That ya can't deny

Turn it down, will you shut that infernal racket Do the Bartman

Oh my ears, Lisa put that saxophone away You can't touch this I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it You can't prove anything

Now I'm in the house, feelin' good to be home 'till Lisa starts blowin' that damn saxophone And if it was mine you know they'd take it away But still I'm feelin' good so that's okay I'm up in my room just'a singin' a song Listenin' to the kick drum kickin' along Yeah Lisa likes jazz she's her number one fan But I know I'm bad 'cause I do the Bartman

Everybody if you can do the Bartman Shake your body turn it out if you're bad man Front to back to the side yes you can, can Everybody in the house do the Bartman

Do the Bartman Do the Bartman, Everybody back and forth From side to side Do the Bartman Do the Bartman, She can do it, you can do it So can I

Move your body if you got the notion Front to back in a rock-like motion Move your hips from side to side now Doncha slip, let your feet glide now

Thanks, it's good to be back among familiar folks again. I've been so damned busy wish work and I'm posting like crazy on a music industry site (a place where I know SOMETHING about what goes on and can comment cogently), as opposed to politics where I just mostly read, learn, and make wise-ass comments.

I really like this format.

I thought you'd fallen off the edge of the internet after the presidential selection.

Are you into nerd, hobby, music stuff? Here is a site dedicated to building your own tube amp from scratch: http://www.ax84.com/home.html.

I'm going to try to build one. I just bought the test leads ($70 gasp - not trivial) and a multimeter. Already have a scope. Debating whether buy the parts kit or order all the stuff myself on mouser.

Look at the pictures of the completed amps. One guy on the site built a beautiful red tolex one and another guy build his in a corn bread pan.

I would imagine a large Sub-Woofer box would be ideal for such a thing.

You know, like kids put in the trunk of their car.

Well, other than owning a Fender Bassman 50 tube amplifier, which requires tweaking to keep alive, I never have built my own amp. I love tinkering with stuff, though, so I'd probably enjoy it. I have several antique clocks I've restored at various levels. Midnight and noon is a real blast around here, because I don't like things that don't work. The clocks must be running, and running accurately. I can sleep right thru the noise now, but I've had guests ask it we could at least turn off the cuckoo clock at night.

As far as projects go, my first big one will be to refinish my great grandfather's old violin (yeah, I know, you should never do that, but this thing hung out on a porch in east texas for 40 years, then somebody literally brush painted it w/ red barn paint), so i stripped it.

Beautiful wood, scratched into the wood was "Knxvill Tenn, 1871".

I'm trying to figure out what to put back on that to get it playable.

But yeah, in general, I love taking things apart.

Maybe use the enclosure/faraday cage from an old (huge, you know the ones..) PC to house the power supply within it?

I'm just going to build it as a head. Just buy a stock aluminum box off mouser for the chassis, although the corn bread pan is funny.

Eventtually, I'd like to try to build 1966 a black face bassman. You can get the schematics and chassis layout off the internet. Apparently all the parts are available. The thing is all point to point wiring inside.

Everyone who knows anything about it however has told me to build the simple one first. Apparently, the real trick is to get the hum and distortion tuned out once you get it wired up. They tell me the multistage bassman would just get away from a newbie like me.

The pink/shiney ones are worse.

They should be ostracized. To keep them from contaminating the good, wholesome, decent amps.

Yes, and most of the people who play them are liberals, e.g., Country Joe and the Fish, Eric Clapton, Paul Kantner, etc. What does that tell you?

Along with a minor slight of some type from the ambiguously gay duo, Trace & Floyd.

Actully, we should go back in the posts and mark the exact day he said that. Then, each year thereafter, we could celebrate "Willy Day" where we run a thread laughing at this remark.

The thread can start with badeys post. No comment. No explanation. Then everyone can spend the day making of it what they will. We can invite all the people from the other forums to celebrate Puppy Peter Day with us.
