Outstanding speech!! Well organized, he makes several devastating points and sums up his speech with a personal experience that ties his life to the use of the atomic bombs. Remember, Jon Stewart is really Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz.
_________________________________________________________________________ WOW! I didn't know that kind of patriotism still existed. He makes a convincing argument if everything he said was true. I did catch one minor point that he did slip up on though. More Americans did not die on Okinawa than all the other wars combined. There are many that say the war was all but over and there was no need to drop the atomic bombs. The Germans who were working on an atomic bomb certainly thought it was unnecessary. Who is telling the truth? I don't know.

Some real history here that I never knew, and his presentation is outstanding. Jon Stewart is an overpaid leftist putz.
There are a few points I disagree with, but that happens with most material I watch/read. The Germans were most definitely working on it (they helped develop ours, after all)
There are impossible dilemmas here. Suffice it to say that Bill Whittle is a Zionist who believes that we should have sacrificed our youth to save Jews from the Holocaust. This was not a good war, and it was not fought for us. Not really. He gives an example of a soldier who came home and had children. Where are they now? What is happening to them? What is happening to all of us? I'll tell you what is happening to them. That couple? Their great grand children are half-breeds. Their children and grand children were bused to black schools. Their birthright to freedoms their grandfathers and uncles thought they were buying with their blood and sweat has been sold to Israel. Empathy for those who experienced the Holocaust is one of their most deeply spiritual experiences. They have little or no sense of ethnicity. Their religion is no more than Masonic, Zionist, papist, or eastern "new age" narcissism. Their great grandchildren are citizens of the world. Panda bears mean more to them than their own offspring. And their language is being replaced by Spanish. The borders are open. The lawmakers plug anything but loopholes in our immigration law. And our banks and media and educational establishments are run by Jews. We must not take pride in the deaths of these people we killed. The war was in vain. The hordes are among us, were among us, were driving us to fight their battles for them, die in their stead, bleed for them. And now we are ruled by them. I only have pity for those who died in WWII for Greater Judea. We're now living in it.
The Japs had hidden airfields and airplanes and enough av-gas to use them during our planned invasion. They had hidden boats that would be used as suicide-boats against our invading ships. They had lots of machine-guns and ammunition stocked to make us pay for every square foot of Japan. People who say that Japan was 'just about to surrender' are just not educated about the situation as it existed.
_________________________________________________________________________ Though I can't source, I have read of the account of US soldiers who were among the first to land in Japan, and they told a very different story than the one you describe. They told of an utterly defeated population that were starving and had no will to resist, and no petro. These soldiers were of the opinion that the use of the weapon was entirely unnecessary. A war crime, in fact. Seems it was used as collective punishment to the Japanese people ( as if the civilians had any more control over their military machine than we do ours today) in special response to the treatment given our troops at Battan, and other places. I suspect the real White House documents that would reveal much more on this subject are still classified, for our own protection no doubt.

Those things are functions of a lost vitality, sapped by an economic system based on fractional reserve banking, now common to all northern hemispheric societies. On the other hand, experts in the pay of the establishment argue that reduced birth rates in modern countries are a positive function of education. That might also be partly true. It's easy to teach people to accept a belief that their heritage is insignificant. We are all of us in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.
You are right. The Imperial Japanese Army and Navy had arms/ammo/av-gas stockpiled for their use in our upcoming invasions. The populace was expected to resist with bamboo knives and spears. That was the cruelty of Emperor Hirohito and his military leaders.
