Having lived cheek to cheek with Arabs for half a dozen years, I have found them averse to the kind of regimentation that we seem to get with our mother's milk.
They actively resist it and where that is not possible, they do so passively - except when it comes to prayer time. They pray with solemnity and absolute confomity. I think it is the only thing that keeps their societies from dissolving into abject anarchy.
I don't think this army is going to do much on their own...
What is there for them to do but enjoy the good life that Iraq's huge oil reserves make possible? Certainly not fight Israel's wars like the poor saps in America have been indentured to do.
OMG, that looks like a comedy film. Sad thing is, it's for real...
"The real deal is this: the royalty controlling the court, the ones with the power, the ones with the ability to make a difference, with the ability to change our course, the ones who will live in infamy if we pass the tipping points, are the captains of industry, CEOs in fossil fuel companies such as EXXON/Mobil, automobile manufacturers, utilities, all of the leaders who have placed short-term profit above the fate of the planet and the well-being of our children." - James Hansen
Friend of mine now in the Pentagon did two tours in Vietnam, mostly basic training for military and police. He said it was a lost cause because they had to be taught basic hygiene.
I remember 4 AM, 30 degrees, huge lights and some dummy in his little shorts up on a small stand. I was with an old salt that told me to make sure we were always in the back row.
We would stand in the back row and wave our arms now and then and no one was the wiser. We were paid $72 a month for such.
They made me bend many times but they never broke me and when they were not looking I stuck it to the military but good.
I always considered the military as the enemy and they likewise considered me a loser, so it was even up.
I took an IQ test one time and the guy that reviewed the scores said, "what in hell are you doing here". My reply was, "hiding from the infantry". He laffed and replied, well you are off to a good start.
