As you may or may not have noticed, I was "gone" that last cpl days.. I had the damn Bird Flu (seems I came down with it sometime last Tuesday) .. Tests sent to CDC and all.. I am somewhat better and am s l o w l y getting back to speed..

The part of all this that scared the crap out of me, was when I went to the Docs and S E V E N Docs all came into the room at one time. So many tests, I could not keep count of.. Said I was too late for that Tamiflu(sp?) and had to take two different meds and NOT leave my house for any reason.

I hope to see if I can at least go outside tomorrow, as these four walls are driving me NUTZ!!!!!!

But I am alive and kicking, even if only as high as a ant..lol

The Breathing part.. I just could not get what I felt was a full breath.. the rest I was trying to overlook.. that sure worked, didn't it ;-)

Glad you're okay, RF. Are you recovering quickly as has often been reported with this bug? Are there any tips you can pass on to the rest of us, either in preparation or in actually coping with it?

Please excuse the frankness of what I am going to post.. But this is what the Doc has told me.. word for word.. yuck!!!

After asking some questions about what I had been doing, leading up to getting sick.. and this is his "reply"

"I can say 100% certain, how you got it.. when you washed your cars/van/truck, you told me that you did so, because of a lot of Bird Shit. In that Bird Shit was the germ that made you sick. Yours is not the only case we have seen, like this. In fact, you are the 6th person to have stated that same thing. Almost word for word."

So I got it, because I wanted a clean car/van/truck!!! Ain't that the crap.. ! Bird shit made me sick..

Thanks for letting us know. I doubt there are any good, clean ways to get sick. Bird doo is as good (or bad) a way as any other.

I'm glad to hear that you are on the mend. Sorry to learn that you got so awfully sick.

So, let me get this straight. You were like put under voluntary quarantine from what I gather by the CDC??

My wife loves to feed the birds. We have lots of bird feeders, and I like make it a point to remember to wash hand when we fill those things. I was kind of nervous hearing about bird flu mixed in with what was doing around, and for a while we stopped feeding our feathered friends.

My wife is real soft hearted and loves the birdies, so we're back feeding them again. This just give me the fantods.
