As you may or may not have noticed, I was "gone" that last cpl days.. I had the damn Bird Flu (seems I came down with it sometime last Tuesday) .. Tests sent to CDC and all.. I am somewhat better and am s l o w l y getting back to speed..

The part of all this that scared the crap out of me, was when I went to the Docs and S E V E N Docs all came into the room at one time. So many tests, I could not keep count of.. Said I was too late for that Tamiflu(sp?) and had to take two different meds and NOT leave my house for any reason.

I hope to see if I can at least go outside tomorrow, as these four walls are driving me NUTZ!!!!!!

But I am alive and kicking, even if only as high as a ant..lol

Glad you are feeling better. The bird flu was going around in 2006 I think in southeast Asia. That flu is not suppose to be spread through the air. The swine flu can be, but not the bird flu. I wonder how you got it. Do you have any idea?

I am been questioning that myself.. I just don't know.. Here is the page they gave me, to learn more about what they say I am dealing with..

From that site they gave you it appears that maybe a bird might have shit on you. Or you touched bird shit and wasn't aware of it. They shit everywhere.

I hope you weren't that sick, it appears to not really be that bad for most people. Looks like most that get it don't even go to the doctor because their symptoms are so mild.

Usually, “avian influenza virus” refers to influenza A viruses found chiefly in birds, but infections with these viruses can occur in humans. The risk from avian influenza is generally low to most people, because the viruses do not usually infect humans. However, confirmed cases of human infection from several subtypes of avian influenza infection have been reported since 1997. Most cases of avian influenza infection in humans have resulted from contact with infected poultry (e.g., domesticated chicken, ducks, and turkeys) or surfaces contaminated with secretion/excretions from infected birds. The spread of avian influenza viruses from one ill person to another has been reported very rarely, and has been limited, inefficient and unsustained.

ricky was right! i have a bird that has nested in a rafter of my back porch. this is the second year in a row. she uses the same nest and does two litters. ;)

she and her mate take care of the chicks so they're flying all over the place. consequently, there's shird bit all over the deck, banister, and furniture. hope they don't get infected!
