By Paul Thompson A man aged 29 has fathered 21 children with 11 different women, it emerged yesterday. Desmond Hatchett's brood came to light after authorities in Tennessee in the U.S. took him to court for non-payment of child support. He has apparently set a U.S. record but said: 'It just happened.' He's the daddy: Desmond Hatchett speaks to reporters about his prolific brood He added that he would not have any more children. 'I'm done. I'll say I'm done,' he said. Hatchett, who earns a minimal wage, told TV reporters he knows the names and ages of all his offspring. Their ages range from newborn to 11 years old. Authorities in Knoxville said they plan to take half of his monthly salary to pay for the youngsters but officials said that would work out to just over £1 a week for each. His lawyer Keith Pope said: 'The children can't all be supported by Desmond, so the state of Tennessee has had to step in.' Many Knoxville residents called for him to be castrated. He even boasted of fathering four children by different women in the same year. Hatchett's name appeared on court documents 11 times representing 15 of his 21 children. U.S. authorities are now braced for more women coming forward to claim Hatchett is the father of their children after he appeared on local TV. He said the women he was involved with all knew he had other children. One mother, who has two children with Hatchett, said she should get £44 a month but rarely receives any child support. 'It's frustrating, but usually, when I ask he gives it to me,' she said. Authorities in Knoxville ordered Hatchett to court to explain how he intends to pay child support. He arrived for the hearing with just over £300.

Yeah but he was no stud that's for sure. He was the "didn't finish high school, spent time in jail" type. I know he had at least 5 kids by his wife and he had both his wife and girl friend pregnant at the same time.
I think that the state and all involved would be well-served with some serious tube-tying.

And, those folks muttering about castration are just as bad. If their daughter gets knocked up and drops the grandchild with otherwise financially crushing special health needs off on the grandparents, they will run straight to social services too. Years ago a WILM city maintenance worker (white guy) told me about his illegit granddaughter's medical needs and how he and his wife "didn't want to lose their house" so, he was more than willing to let the taxpayers subsidize his daughter's irresponsible behavior. So, is asking the state to pay for one child who needs a million in health care morally superior to letting the state pay for a brood fathered by this man in Illinois?
Most here would argue that state,inc. has no legitimate business in either situation. imo
I'm for mandatory sterilization in these cases, but I know I'm off the wall in much of my social thinking. Or maybe it's simply society hasn't caught up with me yet. At any rate, I think a fitting union would be he and Octomom, air dropped on a remote island, and left to their own devices.

Looking beyond the financial and social collapse, what really gripes me are people who get riled when I mention that THE TURNER DIARIES correctly predicted that cannibalism will inevitably follow the mass murders. It upsets their liberal sensibilities, you see.

imo Roger that. I'm betting that those calling for the maiming of a healthy young buck aren't opposed to redistribution, and they believe that their needs are "legit". And, some would argue that if we must have socialism we'd be better off subsidizing poor powerless youth (the future) instead of privileged and politically powerful seniors who consume half the federal budget and still don't think they get too much.
After 18 years that remote island could launch an invasion of El Salvador, probably with some degree of success.

I've long believed that means testing should be in effect for both children and pets. Pets, more so than children. Kids at least have a shot at doing better: pets are just neglected or abused at the end of a tether.
That's true. And the perpetual care facilities require the seniors to sign over all of their assets, so naturally those assets are often depleted the year before the care becomes unavoidable. Perhaps those assets should be forfeited whenever anyone signs up for social security. That would be better than means testing.
