WICHITA, Kansas (AP)- Media reports say that abortion provider Dr. George Tiller has been shot and killed at his Wichita church.

Tiller has been among the few U.S. physicians performing late-term abortion. His clinic has repeatedly been the site of protests for about two decades.

He was acquitted in March of misdemeanor charges stemming from procedures he performed, but moments after the verdict the state's medical board announced it was investigating allegations against him that are nearly identical to those the jury had rejected.

Prosecutors had alleged that Tiller had in 2003 gotten second opinions from a doctor who was essentially an employee of his, not independent as state law requires, but a jury took only about an hour to find him not guilty of all 19 counts.

Tiller, who could have faced a year in jail for even one conviction, stared straight ahead as the verdicts were read, with one of his attorneys patting his shoulder after the decision on the final count was declared. His wife, seated across the courtroom, fought back tears and nodded. The couple declined to speak to reporters afterward.

Tiller, 67, has claimed that the prosecution was politically motivated. An attorney general who opposed abortion rights began the investigation into Tiller's clinic more than four years ago, but both his successor, who filed the criminal charges, and the current attorney general support abortion rights.

Tiller has been a favored target of anti-abortion protesters, and he testified that he and his family have suffered years of harassment and threats. His clinic was the site of the 1991 "Summer of Mercy" protests marked by mass demonstrations and arrests. His clinic was bombed in 1985, and an abortion opponent shot him in both arms in 1993.

Good effing riddance to that stain on the planet.

I hope they don't take up a whole plot of ground to 'bury' him on.

Turn him into gator bait...IMO

Of course the "good" doctor did nothing to trigger the demand for abortion. That lives in the hearts and souls of America's families. How did it get there? Who took their will to life? Who stripped their souls? Who planted the seeds of hereditary self-denial? Who took their sense of heritage?

You can ban abortion but you can't make people want to raise families, not when their economic future is constantly unstable, deteriorating, or worse.

how would you answer your questions?

wouldn't you agree that this goes back several decades?

I think it has happened in three stages. First was the choice to pursue empire before the civil war began. A willingness to corporatize America had already manifested itself in the railroad building, and the industrial revolution was what propelled us to fight each other over whether or not we were a republic or an empire. Second was the acceptance of foreign wars as necessary to the health of the empire starting with the Spanish-American war in 1898. Third was the symbiotic linkage of Zionist/Jewish interests with the empire starting in earnest with the establishment of the federal reserve and our entry into the first world war.

Our decision to nationalize huge areas that could have been used for homesteading was one early manifestation of our decision to corporatize.

When homesteading ended for good in 1968, abortion was just around the corner. Affirmative action and open immigration had already confirmed the end of America's interest in its own traditional families. By 1973, it was just a matter of formalities.

The young women who saw this doctor may have been immoral, but we are amoral for not restoring the conditions that bring the joy of life back into their hearts. All they are doing is responding to the prevailing economic and cultural conditions.

This is a short post on a long topic. There are several culprits, but we are the primary transgressors against our own will to life, as I call it. We can bring it back. We should. We have a moral imperative.

Yes, usury saps the will to life. Shakespeare wrote "neither a borrower nor a lender be" in Hamlet.

Yes, usury saps the will to life.

"With Usura" by Ezra Pound.

Canto LXV

With usura hath no man a house of good stone
each block cut smooth and well fitting
that delight might cover their face,

with usura

hath no man a painted paradise on his church wall
harpes et luthes
or where virgin receiveth message
and halo projects from incision,

with usura

seeth no man Gonzaga his heirs and his concubines
no picture is made to endure nor to live with
but it is made to sell and sell quickly

with usura, sin against nature,
is thy bread ever more of stale rags
is thy bread dry as paper,
with no mountain wheat, no strong flour

with usura the line grows thick

with usura is no clear demarcation
and no man can find site for his dwelling
Stone cutter is kept from his stone
weaver is kept from his loom

WITH USURA

wool comes not to market
sheep bringeth no gain with usura
Usura is a murrain, usura
blunteth the needle in the the maid's hand
and stoppeth the spinner's cunning. Pietro Lombardo
came not by usura
Duccio came not by usura
nor Pier della Francesca; Zuan Bellin' not by usura
nor was "La Callunia" painted.
Came not by usura Angelico; came not Ambrogio Praedis,
No church of cut stone signed: Adamo me fecit.
Not by usura St. Trophime

Not by usura St. Hilaire,

Usura rusteth the chisel
It rusteth the craft and the craftsman
It gnaweth the thread in the loom
None learneth to weave gold in her pattern;
Azure hath a canker by usura; cramoisi is unbroidered
Emerald findeth no Memling

Usura slayeth the child in the womb
It stayeth the young man's courting
It hath brought palsey to bed, lyeth
between the young bride and her bridegroom

CONTRA NATURAM

They have brought whores for Eleusis
Corpses are set to banquet

at behest of usura.

According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office website, 51-year-old Scott Roeder has been booked into to the Sedgwick County Jail shortly after 11:00 Sunday night.

The Associated Press says Roeder was detained in the Kansas City area, according to Law Enforcement authorities in the area.

Roeder is accused of shooting and killing Wichita abortion provider Dr. George Tiller. Roeder has not been formally charged with the killing at this time.

Wichita abortion provider Dr. George Tiller was gunned down while he was ushering at Reformation Lutheran Church Sunday morning around 10:00.

Location of Church

Police arrested a 51-year-old man from the Kansas City area just a few hours after the shooting.

For those who knew Dr. George Tiller and worshipped with the Wichita abortion provider call the shooting is devastating.

Police say the man who shot Dr. Tiller fled Reformation Lutheran Church immediately after the shooting, but not before threatening two other people

"The two men were trying to apprehend the shooter," said Deputy Chief Tom Stolz with the Wichita Police Department, "There was dialogue which I'm not going to divulge. That'll be part of the criminal trial. They were both threatened and the gun was pointed at them"

Those witnesses were able to get a detailed description of the suspect, his car and even his license plate number.

By early afternoon, police in Johnson County had the 51-year-old suspect in custody near Kansas City. Police there say he was arrested without running or putting up a fight.

Police plan to check his background for any affiliation with anti-abortion groups. "We investigate this suspect to the ‘Nth' degree," Stolz said, "His history, his family, his associates."

Stolz says formal charges are expected Monday. Suspect faces one count of murder, two counts of aggravated assault. Detective says suspect threatened two others who tried to keep him from leaving the area.

Yeah sure, don't bother yourselves ever trying to stop the murder of innocents but go all out to punish someone who probably prevented hundreds, perhaps thousands more sadistic torture murders of the most innocent and helpless among us. Yeah, check him out from @$$hole to appetite along with all his family and friends. It is possible you will find more enemies of the state and Satan.

Late-term abortion doctor decries Tiller killing: ‘This is a fascist movement’

By Ernest Luning 5/31/09 5:11 PM

Hours after the Sunday morning shooting death of late-term abortion doctor George Tiller in Wichita, Kan., a Boulder physician — who says he could be the only doctor in the world still performing the procedure — said Tiller’s assassination was the “absolutely inevitable consequence” of decades of anti-abortion fanaticism.

“I’m profoundly sad and I’m furious and I think the American people need to understand that we have a fascist movement in this country,” Dr. Warren Hern told The Colorado Independent on Sunday. “We don’t have to invade Iraq to find terrorists. They’re right here killing abortion doctors.”

“Every doctor that does abortions has been under an assassination threat for decades,” Hern said. “The anti-abortion movement message is, ‘Do what we tell you to do or we will kill you,’ and they do. This is a fascist movement.”

Hern laid blame for Tiller’s death at the feet of the anti-abortion movement’s encouragement of violence against abortion providers and the Republican Party’s “exploitation” of the extremist rhetoric.

“Dr. Tiller is dead by an anti-abortion assassin, and this is the absolutely inevitable consequence of 35 years of anti-abortion fanatic rhetoric and intimidation and assassination violence and exploitation by the Republican Party of this movement,” Hern told the Independent.

Hern, who described Tiller as “a good friend of mine,” said he doesn’t “know of any other doctors in the world doing late abortions like I am.” The Boulder Abortion Clinic, run by Hern since he founded the practice in 1975, has as its motto “Specializing in Late Abortions for Fetal Disorders”.

Hern declined to say whether he planned any changes to his security precautions after the killing of Tiller, who was shot to death while ushering at his Lutheran church.

Noting that Tiller is the “fifth American doctor to be assassinated,” Hern told the Los Angeles Times he’s well aware of the dangers. “I get messages from these people saying, ‘Don’t bother wearing a bulletproof vest, we’re going for a head shot.’ ”

A statement on the Boulder Abortion Clinic’s Web site addresses Hern’s concerns about safety for the clinic’s patients:

By its name and continued existence, Boulder Abortion Clinic makes a statement that women are free to make their own choices about their own lives, bodies, and family needs. I have been personally involved from the beginning of my medical career in advocacy of reproductive freedom, and I continue in this commitment. We have survived anti-abortion harassment and violence and shown our determination to provide these services in spite of everything. As a result, our patients are protected by the highest standards of safety and security when they come to my office.

Yeah, and Obama is the head of the fascist movement in America. Baby killing doctors are some of his sycophants.

Mind you, the government sanctioned the doctors life's work by decreeing such as legal, and the medical profession holds the doctor as a member in good standing.

The government may make just about anything "legal" but that does not automatically make it lawful. Tiller would be lucky if the worst thing that ever happened to him was that bullet that killed him. I suspect that in due course he will have a lot of time to think about what got him where he is.
