STUART, Fla. A Martin County sheriffs deputy has been arrested on allegations he raped a woman while investigating a dispute involving the victim.
Detectives arrested 37-year-old Luis Gutierrez-Florez on a sexual battery charge Friday.According to the Martin County Sheriffs Office, Gutierrez-Florez made sexual advances toward the woman and engaged in sex acts with the victim against her will.

LOS ANGELES, June 5 (UPI) A Los Angeles police detective was charged Friday with killing her former boyfriends wife in 1986 when she was a young patrol officer.
Stephanie Ilene Lazarus, 49, was arrested at Parker Center, the police headquarters building, the Los Angeles Times reported. She allegedly beat and shot Sherri Rae Rasmussen, whose body was found by her husband in their condominium apartment.

Staff WriterATHENS An investigation into alleged illegal activities has resulted in the arrest of the Log Cabin police chief.
Henderson County District Attorney Scott McKee said his office received information about the alleged wrongdoings of Log Cabin Police Chief Rebecca Becky Baskin, 50, after the FBI and the Texas Rangers had been contacted.McKee said Baskin was arrested Wednesday night at the Log Cabin Police Station after a week-long investigation into alleged thefts by the chief.
