It nevertheless seems to transpire, or expire that there is a difference of opinion between quite a fair sized number of Americans, and an equally large number of Jews, Jews-playfellows, and the bedfellows of Jews and of Jewesses, from Eve Curie to Lehman, and Lippmann. The terms “interventionist” and “isolationist” do not seem to define the fronts clearly. Senator Johnson, I s’pose that is Hiram of Californy, became warlike when Japan started in. Naturally, considering what state he represents. But clarity has not come and will not come till an accurate census of the original bellifiyers is made and until every pro-war Jew has his name listed. I think the non-war Jews (at least those who were non-war before the war started) will be found to be very, very, verrrreeee small. In fact, apart from the thefts and extractions of the gang back of the Treasury music hail, it becomes increasingly difficult to discuss American affairs EXCEPT on a racial basis. Whether America will awake to this now or in 20 years, will depend on Yankee enterprise, I suppose. Whatever you read in America, we read here that the Americans, U.S.A.’ers, are irritated at finding themselves in war UNPREPARED. Disappointed in British FLOP. Again, whatever your own press has been able to tell you, it is, or ought to be news, that Europe is interested in the question of Masonry. Nothin’ will come as a greater shock to America in general, but in particular to honest men who compose the greater part, numerically, of American Masonry, than the view held concernin’ that order in Europe. you know what strikes me? Ezra, Smedley Butler, and countless others were so dead on with their warnings so many years ago, yet we find ourselves no better off for it. tragically sad it is.
Their warnings have been purposefully and actively squelched. Even Jefferson said, in 1815, in a letter to Monroe: "All these doubts and fears prove only the extent of the dominion which the banking institutions have obtained over the minds of our citizens, and especially of those inhabiting cities or other banking places ; and this dominion must be broken, or it will break us." Once upon a time, we did have something approaching Liberty in America.

Was Pound channeling Jefferson?
Jefferson was one of the few American philosophers that Pound respected.

Good question. I think that Pound's love of Italy, combined with his utter contempt for usury, took him down the wrong road with Il Duce. That, and Mussolini gave Ezra a powerful radio station. ; )
I think it's an important question, and I don't think Pound would be given the mike key for another 10 years or so. I suspect that anger and resentment toward one kind of tyranny leads to a blindness to another.
As distasteful as I find Ezra's glorifying of a strutting popinjay, a positive result of the entire affair was Ezra's international radio shows for two years. Ezra was the worst thing to happen to the Judeocrats in the past 70+ years.
Are the complete recordings available for download somewhere? What a treasure trove of wit and humor they must be! My impression is that the Axis authorities didn't try to influence his commentaries at all.
