It nevertheless seems to transpire, or expire that there is a difference of opinion between quite a fair sized number of Americans, and an equally large number of Jews, Jews-playfellows, and the bedfellows of Jews and of Jewesses, from Eve Curie to Lehman, and Lippmann. The terms “interventionist” and “isolationist” do not seem to define the fronts clearly. Senator Johnson, I s’pose that is Hiram of Californy, became warlike when Japan started in. Naturally, considering what state he represents. But clarity has not come and will not come till an accurate census of the original bellifiyers is made and until every pro-war Jew has his name listed. I think the non-war Jews (at least those who were non-war before the war started) will be found to be very, very, verrrreeee small. In fact, apart from the thefts and extractions of the gang back of the Treasury music hail, it becomes increasingly difficult to discuss American affairs EXCEPT on a racial basis. Whether America will awake to this now or in 20 years, will depend on Yankee enterprise, I suppose. There is WORK for all sorts and kinds of humans so long as the musician or glass blower carries his IDEA deep enough into it; the picture painter, if he carries his mind deep enough into it, will find that he is not alone, not isolated, solitary, has something to do; some revelation, VITAL relation with the rest of humanity. you know what strikes me? Ezra, Smedley Butler, and countless others were so dead on with their warnings so many years ago, yet we find ourselves no better off for it. tragically sad it is.
Sad? It's only sad for those that don't care about what they wrote. But as individuals we're fortunate. Not many have heard of Butler, and fewer still heard of Pound. But those that have heard of them and others like them, are doing OK. Except I dont care for poetry. IMHO this is always done on an individual basis. Those waiting for a mass movement will be disappointed. The masses dont give a tinkers damn about these things. They have no one to blame but themselves. Sucks to be them. .
. I disagree. Every day the masses are waking up. I am seeing people change because they have to. It is what keeps me alive. To see people wake up.
But we will, IMO, never have a majority. You see individuals change, and so do I. I never said that doesn't happen.
We don't need a majority. There was no majority during the revolutionary war.
