For education and discussion only. Not for commercial use.

Crawford, Texas (AHN) - Pressure mounted against anti-war protester and mother of fallen Army Spc. Casey Sheehan Friday from millions of bloggers as well as cable news and talk radio outlets began to rip her intentions as well as her motivations to shreds.

Ms. Sheehan is camping out on the road that leads to President Bush's Crawford, Texas ranch for the entire month of August where Bush makes an annual visit. The President continues his day-to-day business with daily briefings, trips to sign bills around the nation, and meets with organizations across the country while returning to the ranch by the afternoon.

The President's motorcade has passed Ms. Sheehan numerous times without stopping to address her or her fellow anti-war protesters who claim they want to ask the president questions about "why he lied to them about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and an Al-Qaeda link to the country," which reportedly never existed.

But as the week went on, numerous stories began to emerge about Ms. Sheehan and her ties to radical left-wing anti-war groups as well as inaccurate versions of her first meeting with President Bush at Fort Lewis in Washington. An unearthed article documented in the Vacaville Reporter News contradicted the current story Sheehan has been playing in front of dozens of reporters and media outlets across the world.

Now Ms. Sheehan finds herself in an even deeper credibility issues as bloggers from various websites including Free Republic.com and military forums on the Internet discovered images during a google search of the first meeting of Bush and Sheehan where the President is giving Sheehan a consoling kiss on her cheek in a group family photo.

Ms. Sheehan made no official comment about the discovery of the photo's on Friday but claims that she will move her protest to the sidewalks in front of the White House where the President is scheduled to return after Labor Day weekend.

If Dubya thinks he can help some of them establish a more civilized method of resolving their differences, I'm willing to skepticly go along with it.

Why is it any of our business to begin with?

This isn't a defensive war. It has been definitively shown that Iraq posed no threat. Given that Iraq poses no threat, why are we there resolving differences for the Iraqis?

This article reads like something Cindy Sheehan would have written (or, at least, agree with 100%).
Right Willie??

No. PJB has an accurate assessment of the neocon influence on the Administration's policies.
But the Bimbo goes over-the-top when she blames Dubya for the death of her son.
Her son was killed by the murderous Iraqi thugs called "insurgents".

Well ... at least you're coming back to reality. Last night you were claiming that her son was killed by the evil foreigners who masquerade as Iraqi insurgents. I suppose the implication was that the loving Iraqis - who toss sweets and flowers - would never kill an American solder.

No neoconservative clique ensnaring our country in a series of wars that are not in America’s interest = no Iraqi "insurgents" = Sheehan's son still alive.

"Neocon influence" and "Dubya"

A distinction witout a difference.

And, yes, they are both why the Sheehan boy is now dead.

Perhaps killing another 100,000 more or so Iraqis should teach them the very valuable lesson of civilly resolving thier differences.

How about that, Willie? Good idea?

Why is it any of our business to begin with?

As far as I'm concerned, it's because, with the endorsement of both our Congress and the UN, Papa Bush made a military committment to liberate Kuwait. And because in the aftermath, Saddam Hussein repeatedly violated the restrictions that were imposed on him.

Now don't get into a sidetrack rant about WMDs.
My only concern about those was if they'd be used against our troops.
Their existance is irrelevant to the decision to depose Saddam's regime.
The asshole repeatedly violated the no-fly zone, and as far as I'm concerned, that's sufficient justification to take him out. Hell, Papa Bush never should have left him in power to begin with.

There is no doubt that this is a World Government clusterfuck.
I would have been happier if we sat on the sidelines 15 years ago, and just let the Saudis and Iranians worry about Saddam and the Kuwaitis.
But that ain't what happened and you can't turn back the clock.
The commitment was made, and I support our troops until the committment is fulfilled.
Then we pull OUT of the United Nations.

Here is the link: Willie's Stuff

Here's a nice response that was on the thread, and which you never answered:

#3. To: Willie Green (#0) Casey Sheehan was cut down by foreign insurgents ...

Do you have a link or is this simply more over the top propaganda?

How do you know that it was foreign insurgents. The reports I've seen out of Iraq indicate that most of the insurgents are Iraqi. Rumbsfeld even confirmend this.

So how do you know that the particular insurgent that shot Sheehan's son was a foreign insurgent?

Answer - you don't. But you need this silly sort of dishonest propaganda to support your arguments. They fail without the spin. This by itself should tell you something.

Just the opposite: "Nuke 'em till they glow".

WHAT MCNAMARA LEARNED FROM VIETNAM

McNamara's List:

We misjudged then -- and we have since -- the geopolitical intentions of our adversaries . . . and we exaggerated the dangers to the United States of their actions.

We viewed the people and leaders of South Vietnam in terms of our own experience. . . . We totally misjudged the political forces within the country.

We underestimated the power of nationalism to motivate a people to fight and die for their beliefs and values.

Our judgments of friend and foe alike reflected our profound ignorance of the history, culture, and politics of the people in the area, and the personalities and habits of their leaders.

We failed then -- and have since -- to recognize the limitations of modern, high-technology military equipment, forces and doctrine. . . . We failed as well to adapt our military tactics to the task of winning the hearts and minds of people from a totally different culture.

We failed to draw Congress and the American people into a full and frank discussion and debate of the pros and cons of a large-scale military involvement . . . before we initiated the action.

After the action got under way and unanticipated events forced us off our planned course . . . we did not fully explain what was happening and why we were doing what we did.

We did not recognize that neither our people nor our leaders are omniscient. Our judgment of what is in another people's or country's best interest should be put to the test of open discussion in international forums. We do not have the God-given right to shape every nation in our image or as we choose.

We did not hold to the principle that U.S. military action . . . should be carried out only in conjunction with multinational forces supported fully (and not merely cosmetically) by the international community.

We failed to recognize that in international affairs, as in other aspects of life, there may be problems for which there are no immediate solutions. . . . At times, we may have to live with an imperfect, untidy world.

Underlying many of these errors lay our failure to organize the top echelons of the executive branch to deal effectively with the extraordinarily complex range of political and military issues.

By the way, Saunders says that, in a phone conversation with McNamara, the latter rendered the following opinion of the Iraqi invasion, "We're misusing our influence. It's just wrong what we're doing. It's morally wrong, it's politically wrong, it's economically wrong."

If that is so, what do we do now?

Guess what?
