While I never condone violence, much less the violence that governments are only too willing to mete out to their own citizens, I am always very cautious about “condemning” the actions of governments overseas. As an elected member of the United States House of Representatives, I have always questioned our constitutional authority to sit in judgment of the actions of foreign governments of which we are not representatives. I have always hesitated when my colleagues rush to pronounce final judgment on events thousands of miles away about which we know very little. And we know very little beyond limited press reports about what is happening in Iran. Of course I do not support attempts by foreign governments to suppress the democratic aspirations of their people, but when is the last time we condemned Saudi Arabia or Egypt or the many other countries where unlike in Iran there is no opportunity to exercise any substantial vote on political leadership? It seems our criticism is selective and applied when there are political points to be made. I have admired President Obama’s cautious approach to the situation in Iran and I would have preferred that we in the House had acted similarly. I adhere to the foreign policy of our Founders, who advised that we not interfere in the internal affairs of countries overseas. I believe that is the best policy for the United States, for our national security and for our prosperity. I urge my colleagues to reject this and all similar meddling resolutions.

tom... Akin to the frustrated old man Brunn, when will Paul show his frustrations and blow his cork in Congress by making a statement that would shake the establishment??? I know, never. Yesterday I received a solicitation for money from his organization and it went in the can.
I'm peeling off a dime or two to RP. While I was greatly disappointed in his campaign for president, he hasn't let up in bringing to light topics that wouldn't see a drop of printers ink otherwise. He has made a name for himself and he is not letting that go to waste.
Never swear "allegiance" to anything other than the 'right to change your mind'!
The options seem slim at this point.. That will change.
"Satan / Cheney in "08" Brian... The olde man Brunn with a gun never the less made a statement. He had no podium, no outlet to the people, for it he will pay the total price. Paul has the podium in our congress, could make a strong and profane statement regarding his cohorts and our government, resign on the spot and walk out. That would be a statement that would ring across the internet, even MSM, but no, Paul risks nothing and few pay any attention.
Good for RP. These CIA/Mossad inspired protests are as transparent as saran wrap.
Indeed he could if he never wanted to sit in front of the lens of a MSM camera ever again except for the 24 hours attention he 'might' receive should he pull such a stunt. No, in my opinion RP is playing it just about right...for now.

The Founding Fathers pulled quite a "stunt" did they not. They laid themselves open to arrest, spoke up, wrote long essays, rallied the people. Quite a stunt. Paul ventures nothing, gains nothing.
