Fireworks are legal in Missouri. Some places are open all year round, but near Illinois tents are put up, filled with fireworks, and sold to people from Illinois, where the only thing legal are sparklers.

I stopped at one place and bought some Black Cat firecrackers. The guy there told me he used to run a temporary tent near Illinois, and they'd get drunks in at 3 am, who would set firecrackers off in the parking lot.

He also said that blacks would come over, buy hundreds of dollars worth of fireworks, then go back to Illinois, piece them out, and sell them in the black areas.
