Does anyone have a really good old fashioned Potato Salad Recipe?

I thought of this because I am currently making a batch, and I keep trying different recipes to find one that I can fall in love with. I know I'm fickle but I prefer Dill Pickles - in the salad.

Our family recipe. It's always a hit. (no pickles tho ;)

6 red medium potatoes (cool in fridge or freezer in metal pan after boiling in jackets)
remove jackets and cut up in cubes

Then add and mix together:
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp vinegar
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp salt (mixed in w/mayo)
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 small red onion, chopped

slice hard-boiled eggs on top (optional)
sprinkle paprika on top

Thank you both - that is what I was looking for.

I think I'll use white onion though as the Walla Walla Sweets are in season now and I picked up a bag of them.

That is what I had on hand - reds or some nearly over the hill baby Yukon Golds. I went with the red. I did add a touch of dill.

Gotcha. I did a look see in my Marcia Adams cookbooks and found two German salad recipes. I have a bunch more to look at though.
