KABUL (AP) - Bombs and bullets killed seven American troops throughout Afghanistan Monday, officials said, as thousands of U.S. Marines continued with their massive anti-Taliban offensive in the south. A suicide car bomber also blew himself up outside the gate of the main NATO base in the region, killing two civilians and wounding 14 other people. In an effort to protect Afghans, American troops also recently received new guidelines limiting use of airstrikes in order to minimize civilian casualties that threaten local support of foreign forces' presence. The seven American deaths came as thousands of U.S. Marines continued with their major offensive against the Taliban in Helmand province, a southern militant stronghold and hub of the vast Afghan drugs trade. It is the biggest U.S. military operation since the ouster of the Taliban from power in 2001. -Snip

Jethro... These boys are the low men on the totem pole. God how I hate this government. This makes seven families that will have the knock on the door, bringing a lifetime of grief, to be borne ...for nothing. American voters voted for more war, McKooK or Obumski and war we have, with endless killing.
I had a brother that was a Darwin winner. Also quite a few friends.
When they were here posing as allies we warned them as they began to warm up to His Highness. Obama said He'd move *combat* troops from Iraq to Afghanistan. When we pointed this out, they remained fixed on his claim of an Iraqi exit. Not to our surprise we're still in Iraq and now He's surging in Afghanistan. These D dogs should be ashamed of themselves for becoming the new neocons but they wont. They're shameless.
This really is true. A majority of the American public is still in bed-wetting panic mode over the so-called Al Qaeda. They deserve Darwin Awards even more than the poor schmucks who bit the dust today. You can see this with their "run in circles, scream and shout" panicky "ants in my pants" dance over shutting down the illegal detention camp at Guantanamo. Sometimes I think to myself, "Why couldn't I have been born in Finland?" I especially think this during the never-ending summers here (although a rare cool front has made it through, bringing the temp down to 81 today).
