What are they afraid of?” That’s easy to answer: They - we! - are afraid that Palin’s distinctive combination of sex appeal, self-pity, and cultural resentment has a following in today’s GOP. We are afraid that it is not utterly inconceivable that she could win the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, and we are afraid that if she did so she would lead the party to a 1964-style debacle, accompanied by unnecessary losses down the ballot. We are afraid that even if Palin does not win the nomination, that she will still help to brand the Republican party in a very damaging way. No national candidacy has ever collapsed so rapidly and totally as Sarah Palin’s in 2008. The evidence is strong that she is the only vice presidential nominee in history to have had a significant impact on voting preferences - and negatively so. Since voting day, she has only continued to lose ground. Yet no matter how ill-considered her statements and actions, her core group of supporters excuse everything on the grounds that she is a social conservative martyr, scorned by her cultural betters. Those excuses are exactly the wrong formula to win back the voters the GOP lost in 2008 and needs to recover to win again. If they truly feared this, they would change their ways. The police state will protect them and you couldn't find 100,00 let alone 100,000,000 that has the cajones to go after them and clean up wall street and the criminal bankers running the show. I was one who did. Shame on you Lod. Even if you didn't like McCain/Palin there was plenty of third party candidates. You can't complain to much about Obama since you didn't vote against him. Didn't lift a finger to try and stop him.

I was one who did. So did I. Haven't bothered voting since being fooled by reagan. I dont remember what I did. It was probably something really important, like BBQ. Cold weather doesn't interfere with my BBQ. .

Why all the fear? This coming debacle a la an Alaskan glacier suddenly melting is to be WELCOMED, not feared. It will signal the death rattle of the overall GOPer party of knaves and fools. There is no putting together again the Humpty-Dumpty-like coalition of destitute Southern "Rapture Ready" Zionist evangelicals and superrich country clubbers as exemplified by the Bush Crime Family and all similar families. I was fooled into voting for reagan his first term. I wised up by his re- election and stayed home. Since reagan's first term, I voted Pat Buchanan in 2000 and Ron Paul in 2008.I seriously doubt I will ever vote again.
