Sarah Palin announced Friday she is stepping down as governor and will transfer authority to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell. The statement, delivered outside her home in Wasilla, fueled speculation that Palin, the running mate of Republican presidential candidate John McCain last year, will be or wont be preparing for her own presidential bid in 2012. Yes, this resignation will very much affect her ability to run in 2012. Im convinced she was planning a major run, but all that is in limbo now. Political pundits all over the nation were shocked that she would pull such a big political mistake to step down from a platform that would keep you in the public eye as a respected state governor. Its also a very big negative for a person that the PTB both helped raise to national status and later regretted when her stubborn and self-serving personality began to overrule her handlersand that may be most of the problem. I immediately realized several things about Sarah Palin as soon as she was selected by McCains controllers to be his running mate: 1) she couldnt be a libertarian as the conservative-libertarians were wanting to believe, and 2) that she didnt have a clue about how the Powers That Be operate. I do think Sarah Palin is kind of like a female Ronald Reaganconservative at heart, but too big of an ego to recognize when you are being manipulated and used for someone elses agenda. Of course, when Palin did begin to see how much she was being controlled by the McCain team, who expected her to be very subservient, she rebelled and started trying to control her own speeches and agenda. Trouble is, she doesnt do well on her own and makes lots of mistakes. I believe the Powers That Be have soured on Palin and set the investigative dogs on her in Alaska to try and uncover more dirt on her to discourage any further political advancement. They appeared to have succeeded. Palin mentioned the constant battle she is having fighting off the constant flow of allegations of ethics violations and has run up a legal bill in excess of $500,000. At a minimum, they didnt want her running for President because she, like Romney, is not an insider and has enough charisma that she just might win the Republican nomination. The PTB are sure she would not be compliant as a candidate the second time around, and they would have trouble controlling her. Worse, and also like Romney, if she actually got elected she might see illegal things going on in government that she would not go along with. Then they have to use stronger tactics to control her, like they did with Reaganeventually engineering an assassination attempt using a CIA patsy named John Hinkley (whose father was close to VP Bush). The problem, however, with explaining Palins resignation on the threat of ethics violations is that those same charges would surely be brought up again when she runs for president in 2012. There had to be some other motive out there that overshadowed the value of staying in the governorship. According to the AP The former fiance of Gov. Sarah Palins 18_year_old daughter says he thinks he knows why the Alaska governor is resigning _ concerns over money. Levi Johnston, 19, whose wedding to Bristol Palin was called off earlier this year, says he believes the governor is resigning over personal finances. Its not only the half million in legal fees, which would continue to rise should she stay on as Alaskas governor, but the loss of millions in promotional money being offered as part of a future book deal. According to Johnston, there are other lucrative offers on the table that she would not be able to take advantage of while governor. So, it appears that Palin is sacrificing the political advantages of being a sitting governor (and its liabilities) in order to build a personal war chest for future fights. Its a gamble she probably had to take. But the PTB still have a big problem. By subverting Palins star, they have unwittingly helped Romneys star to rise again, and he, I believe, is a much more formidable problem for them than Palin. Politics Daily reports: If Mitt Romney had convened a conclave to set about systematically destroying his potential presidential opponents, he could have done no better than this. Moderate Utah governor Jon Huntsman was dispatched abroad by President Obama, Nevada Sen. John Ensign and South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanfords affairs ended any ambitions they may have had. A Pew Research Center poll noted that Romneys
favorability rating has climbed to 40 percent __ a 10_point increase over the past 16 months.

Skousen is a fellow Mormon. That's why he's touting Mitt as some kind of "anti-establishment" man on a white horse. Mitt has an insurmountable problem, though. The more committed fundagelicals view the LDSers as not really Christians, at best, and Lucifer worshippers, at worst. This view is so widespread that there is NO WAY Romney can ever get the GOPer nomination. He also has a record in Massachusetts that he's tried to run away from ever since he left office there, but it is still used by people like former Pastor Huckabee (the TRUE Great White Hope, Palin aside, of the Southern Baptist base of the party). Obama using the NSA to eavesdrop on opponents? Anything's possible. Wow. Wonder where he got that idea?
