Stand and be counted. It is time to separate the wheat from the chaff. It is time to publicly show our fellow citizens on which side we stand. It is time to call out each other in public and make a statement. Which is why I'm proposing that we address each other in the following manner whether in private or in public by simply addressing each other in word or in letter with, "Hello Patriot".

In the Charles Dickens classic, "The Tale of Two Cities" which took place at the onset of the French Revolution [not comparable to the First American War for Independence], people within the city addressed each other with "Citizen". It was a not only a way of letting people know that they lived within the city limits, it was also a subtle way of distinguishing themselves from the ruling class. We need to separate ourselves from the compliant elitist crowd immediately with greetings and salutations of "Hello Patriot".

This greeting can give meaning to many things we all have in common. It can say, I'm for the rule of law, not the rule of man. I'm for honest money and taxation, not theft. I'm for life, not death. I'm for peace, not war. I'm for love, not hate. I'm for justice, not injustice. I'm for defense, not offense. I'm for truth, not lies. I'm for honesty, not deception. I'm for the Declaration of Independence, not government dependence. I think you get the idea. May I address you by saying... "Hello Patriot".

Well, I believe it is time to let people know where we stand. What do you think? Our numbers need to be known, and our voices need to be heard other than behind the safety of our computer screens in the vast impersonal world of cyberspace. There is no better way than making a statement at the onset of every face to face conversation or letter with "Hello Patriot".

Now I know our movement has been labeled many things and some would argue this is just another way for the media and elite to...

What if I have celiac disease, Patriot?

I keep trying to get people to understand something very very important: It is UNNECESSARY for any of us to do ANYTHING to "bring this empire down", because this empire is doing an excellent job of tearing itself to pieces. I seriously doubt this empire is going to last another 24 months.

Therefore, I humbly suggest that it would be vastly more productive for us to start thinking about what we would like to see arise in the wake of the collapse of this empire. Here's some topics I think we should start discussing:

1: Currency versus Money - what's the difference and why it matters.

2: Central Banking and why it is the superhighway to Hell.

3: "Corporate Personhood" and the unmitigated disaster created by the loathsome ruling of "County of Santa Clara versus Southern Pacific Railroad".

4: Nations versus empires: Compare, contrast, discuss. What are the differences between nations and empires, and why should we care? Is the key really based on the fundamental triad of "Race, Religion and Culture"?

5: Population density and the relationship of the size of any given nation to the representation of its citizens, AKA "Small is beautiful" or "How to avoid creating a New Monster to replace the Old Monster".

6: Industrialized food production, its costs and benefits, and why we should consider embracing the "locovore" movement.

7: Self-Determination: Why it matters, what can be done to facilitate it, what can be done to prevent its suppression.

There's more to cover as well, but I think these topics represent a good starting point.

Okay. Just let everything collapse into poop.

What do we eat?

You just don't want to get some blood spilt on the tree of liberty is all.

You just don't want to get some blood spilt on the tree of liberty is all.

At this point in time "spilling blood" is the LAST thing anyone should be thinking of doing. All it does is to encourage TPTB to become even more violent and repressive, and believe me, if there's one thing TPTB are extremely good at, it's violence and repression. So why feed into their strengths? Wouldn't it make more sense to simply stand aside, let them self-destruct, and have some plans for what we're going to do to build something new in the wake of their collapse?

If you have a hated enemy who is busily shooting themselves in the foot, and every other extremity simultaneously, here's a suggestion: Stand off to the side and LET THEM. Go ahead and let them do all of the greedy, corrupt, vicious nonsense they're prone to do, because it weakens them and hastens their demise. "Standing up" to them and "spilling blood" does NOTHING at this point except to make them seem more powerful, more frightening, and more justified in their oppression. Why give them that gift? Why help them in that way? It's madness. Why expend energy in trying to "oppose" it when it's doing such a wonderful job of destroying itself? Wouldn't be all be a lot better off making plans NOW for what we want to create after it's gone? Or do you intend to stamp on the corpse for the next decade while everyone else around you is trying to survive, and hopefully prosper?

Gold and silver are REAL money, paper is but a promise.

That's ... umm.... deranged. But I will say this much: I have personally reached the point where I honestly feel that if I were to die as a direct result of the death throes of this rotten empire, I'd not feel too bad about it. Death is preferable to continuing to live in such a miserable, corrupt, greedy, vicious, twisted and despicable empire. I do hope to live long enough to see it shoveled into a nice, shallow grave, and then see people lined up to the horizon patiently waiting their turn to piss on it. Dibs on the beer concession!

"Do they?" puppy asks.

Perhaps it's true but I have no recollection of any such historical precedent. In fact I'm of the opinion that generally speaking guerrilla fighters have a higher casualty rate than those who don't fight. (LITTLE BOY And FAT MAN's non combatant casualties notwithstanding as well as civilians in Dresden and all primary targets of that and other fire bombing "campaigns of terror".

"But then again, "collateral damage" is perfectly acceptable, is it not?"

This reads as slightly hostile and as a comment from someone so anxious to controvert that fact checking caution was thrown to the wind.

But then again, "collateral damage" is perfectly acceptable, is it not?

Anyone advocating for Government Healthcare is advocating for "collateral damage".

The problem with letting things go is the damage to civilians, noncombatants, and innocent bystanders.

Politicians, while trashing their own careers, tend to wreak unbelievable damage on the rest of society as a result. Want to push minority home ownership? Make it a "racist act" to deny a strawberry picker a $750k mortgage. Get them in over their heads. Force the banks to give them loans there is absolutely no way they can repay.

Yes, it is a hostile comment, because there are lots of innocents who are shot while people who know better whistle and let the first salvos pass by them only to strike the passer-by walking behind them. It is a DESERVEDLY hostile comment.

The only thing required for evil to take root is for good men to do nothing, as the saying goes. Well, good men have done nothing for years. We have a lot of evil now as a result.

What innocent bystanders? There are none. None at all.

These innocent bystanders are the worthless greedy (#&($%#^%(#&$( &#%)!!!!!!!! that got us into this mess. They played along, just as long as they made money and had fancy gadgets to play with. Now that the house is crashing down around them, they expect sympathy? From me? Look up sympathy in the dictionary, you will find it listed between s**t and syphilis.

I'm with you on this EJ. Let the monster die via suicide. But we need to be ready just in case they decide to take us down with them, which they probably will try to do.

I believe that you are right as rain in your observations. I'd like to add that it is not only UNNECESSARY to do anything to "bring this empire down," it is in fact an IMPOSSIBLE task for the meager army of earnest critics to do much about the situation.

The number of those that read and think and see what is going on around them is small, and the number of those observers disinterested only to the extent of the defense of their liberties miniscule compared with the horde of the lazy minded silent majority that is willing to go along with whatever new series of atrocities their masters have in the hopper.

The greed of the ruling classes in all their claques and cliques is insatiable, as it has always been throughout human history. The saving grace is that they are not unified. Any one of their faction would gladly gut the other for temporary advantage. They will soon stress the system to the breaking point in the effort to squeeze the last drop of prosperity from the economy before the party's over.

It will only be then that folks will demand representation that thinks in terms of the issues that you've listed in your post. I think we need not just a good thread on each of those issues. Each one of them deserves its own section here on 4um. Good post.

The fact still remains that the "worthless greedies" (as you put them) are interfering with YOUR LIFE as they play their games.

You realize this, which is good. Others will remain passive and let themselves be rolled over mightily.

YOU are the "innocent bystander" who has to now content with the PATRIOT Act. YOU are the innocent bystander who has been hit with trillions of dollars in Government debt taken on in YOUR NAME as things exploded. That shrapnel hit you.

Being passive is what got us here. They do this to us and we do nothing. We sit and hope that things will just work out - that the 'elites' will somehow confine their games to themselves (as many on this thread seem to think) and that is just NOT the case.

This isn't a movie. The way to win is not simply "not to play" but to change the rules.

"We're looking for [Obama] supporters," said DeHaven of Hoover, one of the event's organizers. "We're not looking for a fight. That will come later, when we have an army."

IMO it is not being passive, it is using their own weight and movements against them, like judo. That is being active, not passive. When you fight on the enemies ground and on his timing and are constantly reactive, you lose.

That shrapnel didn't hit me, because I am not in that fight. Yes, times are rough for me too. So what. Life goes on, with or without me. The only things I am concerned about regarding the banksters, corporate dweebs and politicians is in how quickly they will destroy themselves by their own actions. Not that I wouldn't mind giving a good shove now and then.

And if they want to take us down with them, then we can play that game too, but not on their terms, on ours.

I've wondered about that. I dont know how much time I have spent considering it.

I came to the conclusion that they know, but don't care. They wont care until the pain comes. Try and talk to some of these people and they just don't want to hear it. Because things are the same, more or less, from day to day, they don't want anything to break that routine. The routine is more important to them.
