Over the past few months, I've noticed that there is an increase in LP Members who choose to use words and namecalling to:
ridicule others
demean others
undermine others
"pigeonhole" others or events
This is being done by those who do not agree with a position or person. Rather than engage in debate and rebuttal, certain individuals simply screech out (or type out) their favorite nom du jour and avoid any intelligent discussion.
It's going to STOP!
Polite requests have not worked.
Removal of posts has not worked.
Removal of posts and RED comments of UNCIVIL behavior has not worked.
So now, we WILL do something that WILL work!
Henceforth, when any issue arises, or any discussion occurs, and the person trivializes it by either labeling it as:
-- kook
-- nutcase
or any variation thereof, I'm just going to remove the person permanently. Ban them.
I believe that there may be some new "plants" here from that "Acorn" group or something similar. Regardless of who it is, these actions are INCOMPATABLE with Free Speech under the First Amendment.
To have some folks polluting the LP discussions with a low-brow, uneducated method of halting discussion is unacceptable.
It's like urinating in the swimming pool. Uncouth, vulgar, and disgusting.
Earlier, we had various people calling each other names, and it was a personal issue.
This is different.
This will not stand.
If this restriction is intolerable to those who engage in this with your limited mental processes, please don't hesitate to leave. You will NOT be missed.
You are ALL hereby put on notice to cease and desist from this activity: Immediately
If you find a new word that does the same thing....guess what?
This same rule will cause the deletion of the offender.

The way I did it was to keep them under subheads and then I could just scroll to the subhead, quickly find the link, and then post.
As long as you keep them organized it takes only a few seconds to find the right one.

My kind of person. You ought to see my veggie garden this year - I already have harvested a few ripe tomatoes and in a couple of weeks will have them coming out my ears. The job she took was with a company within the Military Industrial Complex. Her whole livelihood depended upon the war and the deaths of American troops. On top of that, a huge majority of those who work for the MIC are former military, and at the time she took the job, Bush was still being hailed as a God. She was influenced by them. She went from being anti-government to being a Bushbot within six months.
At the same time, my guess is that the new synagogue she began attending was different in the one she was attending up north. I believe it was much more Zionist and Israeli-oriented. I say this because her whole attitude about being a Jew and the Jewish people seemed to change once she moved down there. She appears to be much more Zionist now than she ever was when she first began LP. She went from being a patriotic American woman to being a Israeli-first Jew who would sell American secrets to Israel at the drop of a hat.
Maybe I'm wrong. I never knew her personally and only knew her by her online persona. Maybe she's always been an Israeli-firster, but I sure don't remember thinking that until after she moved south. Neil or someone else knew her personally so they would have more insight into that part of her.

Not even close to what they used to get. At one point in time there would be so many different articles posted that both the breaking news and regular news bars would completely cycle through at least twice per day. Nowadays the breaking news bar is lucky to cycle every other day and the articles in the regular news take about a full day to cycle completely through. Also, at once time there would be so many people posting at one time that it was hard to keep up. Nowadays there can literally be minutes between posts.
She's cut her own throat as far as traffic goes. People have been seeing through her bulls**t for a long time and are speaking with their feet. I quit posting there at least two years ago because of her actions. I still go there to read news articles though.

She made her in/famous "pali-animals" comment when LP was only about 2 months old. It clearly violated our rules in place at the time and ever since, but being new an this job running a forum, and not expecting my partner on this to have actually posted something like that, I didn't do anything about it. It came back to haunt her and rightly so.
Goldi is a converted Jew. It gives her a purpose in life that she didn't have before and for that.... all I can say is good for her. She did tell me in person once about how Jews were not permitted to charge interest from other Jews, only non-Jews. The more I thought about that, the more "wrong" it is that Jews could do that and not, say, whites. It's obvious how such a policy can work to promote one class of people at the expense of others. As long as that economic principle is an element of the Jewish faith, I can certainly understand anyone having monetary paranoia toward Jews in general. The "Jews can't charge Jews interest" rule is one concrete fact that can justify such paranoia.
Goldi wanted Israel to receive special consideration, and be exempt from criticism normally directed toward countries because Israel is unique in being founded on the basis of faith. I always disagreed with that. Obviously if Israel chose to be a country, then it inherits all the duties of one, including suffering first amendment criticism. She said some people who hate Jews would simply substitute the word "Israel" in place of "Jews". Maybe some would, but we'd have to deal with that on a case by case basis.
But Israel having even footing with all other countries was the policy the entire time I was there. I'm sure it's not the case now, unofficially if not officially, since Goldi has such strong attachments to her faith and through that, Israel itself.
As for Israel, its current inhuman blockade of Gaza, is all by itself an act of war. Israel has proven, just as Goldi proved with her pali-animals comment, that they hate the people of Gaza and want them wiped off the map. And not in the sense that (I understand) Iran's leader referred to with Israel in just eliminating the government and borders. There can be no doubt that Israel wants to wipe the people of Gaza into the sea. And it's a crime of the highest order that they are actively doing that, and a crime of the government of the USA and all other governments that enable Israel in this act of genocide.

I finally got the big bounce from Goldi after playing my fifth round of rule- hypocrisy chicken with her. She bounced me for calling her BS on her new rules because her favorite posters were violating her new rule on the very thread she announced the new rule.
I won't lie: I expected to get banned. I started publicly staring down Goldi ever since Badeye got away with endless childish disruptions of threads not supportive of GOP golden children (not to be confused with conservative government policies). This last time marks the third or fourth time I publicly shouted at Goldi for open hypocrisy.
I relentlessly used the exact same tactics on Badeye and later yukon used on every thread they intended to tie up - including name calling and ridicule. I also knew Goldi would sooner or later throw me out because I relentlessly used the exact same tactics of her golden children to attack the political positions she supported.
I got no particular feelings about my ban, other than separation from some eager, active minds I appreciated and often opposed.
I'll leave my shoes at the door and keep my feet off the furniture.

Although I was a prominent poster it was her action taken arbitrarily and in contravention of her own stated rules that did it. I was simply on the receiving end of the action whereby she garotted herself. She very simply revealed that she was not a woman of principles but an arbitrary little despot who could not defend her actions and so eliminated the voices pointing out her hypocrisy.

Goldi is a liar. She banned him because he was against her politics and did a great job at it, and she freaked out and banned him. Only after everyone on the site rose up, she claimed to unban him. However she probably never did unban him.
She made up bulls**t about me to justify banning me. She claimed I was that spammer who keeps signing up over and over. Its obvious bulls**t but she doesn't really care how she looks.

You must have missed the thread about Goldi checking her geneology and finding that she is Jewish. The DNA on her mom's side checks out and she always had a "feeling" that this would be so, because she also has psychic abilities to go along with her big IQ.

I was just going back over the thread and this one jumped out at me again. My warped sense of humor cannot resist pointing out that the DNA test only confirms SEMITIC DNA - not JEWISH DNA. Since Sephardic (Arab) Jews are indistinguishable from non-jewish Arabs all the DNA test proves is that she had at least one ancestor that was either Jewish, or Muslim, or Zoroastrian, or Christian, or Agnostic, or Atheist, and Arabic in ancestry. This also means that she is a DNA match of the Palestinians whose mass murder she applauds. In other words she is a Palestinian.
