Yes it's true. My daughter, eighteen YO and her friends, a fewdays ago completed the notorious BLACK HOLE in Utahs demanding White Canyon. This is a route that is - to belittle- demanding and most would run like heck from even seeing the beginning of the route. Even today the Park Service has a sign saying Don't even think of it. Sue and I went down the route and I can report it was not just rough ( we are used to rough) but it was "this will kill you and not notice the difference" kinda trail".. It has been impassible for maybe five years, evidentally last year a huge flood mashed the plug out of the way, So Allie, my daughter and her friends did this a few days ago. She reports it was more "extreme than extreme, 11 out of ten". The picture is from the net.

The Black Hole of the White Canyon is a lodestone for cayoneers in SE Utah. People have died doing this. It is a serious expedition, really, and the route would, and does, scare the crap out of any normal human being. I know that because Sue and I have been down the the jaws of the canyon and that was enough for as - and as we knew the route was plugged by a fantastic wall of vegetation we were not to inclined to continue down the terrible canyon.
Oh I believe you. I climbed Angel's Landing in Zion only to stop right before the last 20 feet where there was nothing but a single low hand chain between you and 1000 feet below. It was turning around I was worried about and knew better than to continue and be frozen on the precipice.
I just asked my girlfriend if she had ever heard of "doing the black hole of the white canyon". She hit me and now won't talk to me. What did I say?
