Obama: August healthcare deadline may "spill over" Jul 20, 2009 WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Monday the August deadline he had set for Congress to pass initial healthcare legislation may "spill over," but repeated that he wanted reforms enacted soon. "I want this done now," Obama said in an interview on the PBS program "The Newshour with Jim Lehrer." "Now, if there are no deadlines, nothing gets done in this town. ... If somebody comes to me and says, it's basically done; it's going to spill over by a few days or a week -- you know, that's different," he said. Obama had repeatedly urged the House of Representatives and Senate to pass their versions of healthcare reform legislation before the early August summer recess, although lawmaker concern over costs of the $1 trillion proposal have slowed progress on the bills.

Well good for him. Health care in the US is an utter disaster. If what he does is worse, well OK, at least it might break the choke hold of the massive corruption that is the medical insurance system we have now. Did I mention MASSIVE CORRUPTION?
