Yeah. As if they listen to the proles and serfs. Remember when Jimmy Carter thought it would be a splendid idea to give Panama the canal that America built, paid for, and still paid for the use of for all these years? Americans were against that shit about four to one or maybe five to one but did it make any difference? A more recent example is the bailout for the already obscenely wealthy bankers. Most Americans opposed that. Did it do them any good to oppose it? The only time they ever listen to Americans is when Americans might want them to do something they already planned to do anyway (which is probably about as often as people like Teddy Kennedy and Obama ever tell the truth).

Fantasy land to believe the power people care what we think.

And why should they. Voters return them to office time after time.

Without writing letters, Americans next year could throw out the entire House of Representatives, so we could start over.

That would include Ron Paul and whole troop, be rid of them.

I wish we had a house of representatives with a majority who thought like Ron Paul. The only time I ever had a chance to vote for him was when he ran for president on the Libertarian ticket but if I lived in his district I would have voted for him every time (at least unless there is something about him that I am not aware of). If we had a majority in the House and Senate like Ron it wouldn't make much difference who occupied the White House. They could propose anything they wanted but if it didn't meet Constitutional muster they wouldn't get it funded. And of course we wouldn't be saddled with "judges" like Ruth Bader "Darth Vader" Ginsberg and the current idiot seeking the post who thinks of herself not as an American but "a wise Latina."

Two things work against the people.

First, once in, the politicians will not leave, knowing full well that the odds of being thrown out are very slim.

Second, once in they have the seniority system under total control and it is NEVER broken.
