In 1985, there were 50 companies who owned media outlets. The graph on this site shows that between then and now, the number has dwindled to only six, and if the planned deregulation goes through it'll decline even further. Includes the major media reform advocacy groups.

EVERTHING has become channelized. When I was a kid there were at least 25-30 different candy companies...now all are owned by Mars or Hershey. Chips and snacks are all owned by Frito-Lay. There were "The Big three" auto makers, but there was Hudson, Stude, Packard Kaiser-Frazier, Nash. Whirlpool just bought out Maytag. All the wealth is in the hands of a very few people nowadays. And they are screwing us hard.

That is the agenda. Take the wealth from the irresponsible many, and put it in the hands of the so called responsible few.
