The year was 1947 Some of you will recall that on July 8, 1947, a little over 60 years ago, witnesses claim that an unidentified flying object (UFO) with five aliens aboard crashed onto a sheep and mule ranch just outside Roswell, New Mexico . This is a well known incident that many say has long been covered up by the U.S. Air Force and other federal agencies and organizations.

However, what you may NOT know is that in the month of April 1948, nine months after that historic day, the following people were born:

Albert A. Gore, Jr.
Hillary Rodham
John F. Kerry
William J. Clinton

Howard Dean
Nancy Pelosi
Dianne Feinstein
Charles E. Schumer
Barbara Boxer

See what happens when aliens breed with sheep and jackasses?

I certainly hope this bit of information clears up a lot of things for you. It did for me.

Just got this in my email from a friend. I thought it was very funny but I am not certain that the people mentioned were alll born in '47. With that disclaimer out of the way I still thought it was a good laugh.

Sounds like something David Icke would come up with... and mean it.

Build a politician a fire, and he will be warm for a day. Set a politician on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

Great tagline!

We have a different view I suppose. I would much rather every sinner (politician or whatever--all have sinned and come short of the glory of God so the Bible says) would repent and no one would go to hell. I used to tell people to go to hell on a more or less regular basis but I never say that anymore. That is not to say that I "like" politicians* or that I don't mind their criminal activity and their treason. And I think that they should be tried and punished for those things. But I don't wish hell on anyone.

*I do like some people that are, in my opinion, incorrectly referred to as politicians. I do indeed like statesmen but there are precious few of those.

How do you feel about those that, for whetever reason, refuse to repent to their fellow human beings?

How's that for a loaded and possible prickly question? :)

I believe that people should acknowledge the wrong(s) they have done to others, apologize and make amends to the best of their ability. But I suppose you want to know if I think that those who refuse to repent to "fellow human beings" are going to heaven? Not up to me. That depends on their relationship with the Creator (God). But if their relationship with him is what it should be they will be quick to do their best to make amends to anyone they have hurt.

I was really thinking more about who and or why a person must/might repent to, let alone for what. Start repenting to just anyone and they'll own you, right?

:)

I don't think so. Repenting means to apologize for the wrong things you have done and to do the best you can not to do them again. Being human means that you will make mistakes, you will hurt others and you will sin just about every day you live. But the good news is that God knows we are not perfect and is quick to forgive if we will but ask. Your fellow humans are not always so quick to forgive and that hurts sometimes if you are sincere in your apology. But it happens to all of us. Sometimes people just won't forgive you and you have to learn to accept that. Not easy but it is part of the human condition. If we won't forgive those who hurt us how could we reasonably expect God to forgive us?

Can I still get into state of grace if there are humans who do not forgive me?

Of course you can. God's forgiveness is available to any who will repent and accept. You may always have humans who won't forgive you for one reason or another but that is not true with God. And his forgiveness and your acceptance of the sacrifice Christ made on your behalf is what will get you into heaven. Not whether someone else forgives you or not.
