Title: Specter: Wise Latina remark "commendable"

Arlen Specter, the former chairman of the Judiciary Committee, saved his most interesting Sonia Sotomayor comments for last -- applauding her "wise Latina" comment but criticizing the "caution" that has defined Supreme Court confirmations since Robert Bork back in '87.

He also said he was "pretty sure" Sotomayor would vote to preserve abortion rights, based on her respect for Roe v. Wade as precedent.

Specter, the Pennsylvania Republican-turned-Democrat, was relegated to the end of the podium this morning, but offered a cogent, concise post-game wrap-up moments before the committee approved her nomination 13-6.

"I didn't find fault with the 'wise Latina' comment, I find it commendable," said Specter, the first Senator to flat-out endorse her controversial comment, adding: "There's nothing wrong with a little ethnic pride."

That said, he added: "The one regret I have about Judge Sotomayor's testimony was her extreme caution" and said it was spurred by the mis perception that Bork was ambushed 22 years ago by liberal activists.

"The myth was that he was 'Borked' -- I don't know if that's a verb or a participle -- except I know it's no true," said Specter, whose "no" vote as a Republican helped doomed Bork.

"Judge Bork answered a great many questions because of his writings and his background. He believed in 'original intent' and he didn't believe the protection clause extended behind race and ethnicity -- [that it] did not apply to women... He did not believe in due process of law."

Poster Comment:

"Nothing wrong, of course, if you are not white. In that case such a comment would be reprehensible rather than commendable."
"......until the foolish white proles start thinking so, then it's time to roll out the hate crime brigade."

You CAN get away with this.

"We're looking for [Obama] supporters," said DeHaven of Hoover, one of the event's organizers. "We're not looking for a fight. That will come later, when we have an army."

Correction: "Judge Bork answered a great many questions because of his writings and his background. He believed in 'original intent' and he didn't believe the protection clause extended behind race and ethnicity -- [that it] did not apply to women... He did not believe in the JEW process of law."

The Senator from Scotland, ol "Magic Bullet" Specter, strikes again with his idiocy.

Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end.

He is worse then a creep. He has the hands of millions of dead babies all over his hands, in between his fingernails and all over his sick face. I hope that Arlen Specter is struck by lightings. Or hit by a car. Eaten by an allilgator. Or better yet maybe he can walk by a gang scene shootout and catch a stray magic bullet right between the eyeballs.

Spector & Kennedy, had they been in any other professions, would be retired on medical disability today. Only in Congress can human trolls, walking noses, fags, and the medically incapacitated get to determine our future.

Oh Oh --- statements like that make you sound like a goody two shoes.

Is “JEW” in capital letters nazi code?

Do the JEWS own you mind?

Are you a JEW?

For your information the American JEW has more power over the US then the JEWS had over pre Nazi Germany.

Maybe if people like you were less squeamish about using the word “JEW” – America may need not have a “HITLER” come to power.

I sure hope so!
