In the Islands there was nothing but base.

On duty 24/7 , three months at a time.

Sounds like the sunspot of the Indian Ocean - the delightful Diego Garcia - don't go swimming in the lagoon - there's a 25 foot Hammerhead that calls it home.

That's a good thing about marrying in to a full-bird colonel in the USAF's family.

The wife was as much a part of the promotion process as was he, and how he did his assignment.

She had to entertain, and entertain very well, and that that meant a fully stocked bar and a bar tender at big get-togethers.

Thirty-two years later, we still have a lady who worked at Bergstrom AFB, back in the late forties, to tend our bar needs at Christmas parties.

There is a lot screwed up with the military today, but back then, lasting relationships were formed to last.

Well - as Mistress of the Household certain prerogatives accrue to her. Maybe if he bought her a mink she would be more amenable?

When we arrived in CA, Travis AFB, once the aircraft was parked, little blue trucks with drivers only would go from aircraft to aircraft. We each had to make a donation of a case for each truck, base commander, wing commander etc etc.

Lod...

When we would go to Japan on "military business" we were allowed to take several of ground personnel along, also on business you understand.

after a few days, they were all hung over, exhausted, lost weight, some forgot their names etc etc. We would pour them in aircraft and boot them out when home.

Hey. we were all happy for awhile.

Well I am pretty much speechless.

The question I would have for her is how does she account for the other geniuses of human history?

How does genetics affect intelligence?

How do you conclude that it is genetics when "God created man in his own image." God however is not a man but a spirit. What does that say about the essential nature of man?

I am guessing Goldi has "Brown Eyes".
