Utter hysteria. I was actually going to respond to a Goldi post elsewhere that similar to this and saw this one at the top of Breaking News. I was sorta shocked to see this came from Goldi.

Uh, Goldi, it's fine and all that you think this country is being taken over from within, in an insiduous and "soft" fashion. You're totally right. I totally agree.

However, to pretend this happened on 1/20/09 or Election Day 2008 is silly. It's two party fraud rube stuff. This country has been slowly taken over by the Elites/Oligarchs/Military Industrial Complex for about 60 years now. To try and assign this to just a matter of Dems vs. Republicans is so naiive.

And what is this about stealing elections? Obama won this election fairly convincingly. Heck, Bush had controversy in both of his elections (I ascribe to no official opinion either way on Bush's elections). Real controversy. Not "I hate Obama because he's a Democrat and if it was a Republican I'd twist myself into a metaphorical pretzel trying to justify it" controversy.

And then you ratchet it up into scary territory with the CAPS LOCK and numerous exclamation poiints and talk of Communism and Nazi Gestapos.

The use of the word Nazi or Hitler is utterly abused by Republicans these days. Essentially anyone they don't like is now labeled a Nazi. Funny how Republicans lambaste Dems for tossing that term around in the same way.

Communist is also making a big comeback. Honestly, forget about Obama. Obama is a tool, a pawn. He is doing what he is told, what he is being pressured to do from behind the curtain. Bush was sorta the same, the only difference being he is part of the family that helped create the whole MIC/Shadowy Elite set-up. However, Bush being an utter degenerate made him more of an installed puppet prince.

The only indepdendence Obama will show from the elite masters is whatever symbolic baloney will help shore up the zombie idiot Dem base (gay marriage, eco-cars, food stamps, etc.). Just the same as if McCain was elected. He'd be doing the same bidding, except with a more "conservative" friendly face (i.e., anti-gay marriage, empty talk about abortion, showing up at the occasional NRA luncheon), all to placate the GOP zombie idiot base.

Coup de tat? Goldi, you want to talk about a coup de tat, a real one and not just a product of hysteria, look at the JFK assassination. That was an actual coup de tat and really the sort of public coming out of the MIC and the elites beginning their takeover of this country. Killed a president right on the street and gambled on people's own inherent discomfort with finding out the worldview-shattering truth. Very similar to 9-11, which was barely even covered up or investigated and again those in charge gambled on people being too dumb, distracted, or neglectful enough to ask the hard questions.

...so we have to gear up now and be ready - Goldi

The above from the thread.

How does one "gear up and be ready" in Goldi's world of R v D politics?

Call, fax, phone, email, twitter, or simply yell at your congress critter?

Maybe we can vote the bums out and replace them with "conservatives"?

In America, "selections" are used to appease the politically active among us - the less active have given up and watch the insanity from the sidelines. At least here we know nothing short of the cartridge box is an option for CHANGE, not that I see an organized effort....yet. But take heart. If Obama unleashes union thugs in some insane attempt to silence angry people, that just might be the straw that breaks the camel's back. This week the tea party folk showed some spine. So far, so good.

PS: There are some real decent folks at LP who for reasons unknown to me, still waste time with professional hacks. They need to join the ranks and make some good use of their time.

In 2007, the FBI reported on concern about white supremacists recruiting soldiers, saying "hundreds" of neo-Nazis were in the active military. But in April, a Department of Homeland Security report on extremism that reiterated much the same point was widely criticized by veterans groups and some conservative politicians as being unpatriotic, leading the Justice Department to retract the DHS report.

Critics acknowledge that extremism in the Army is a touchy political subject.
