I stopped by the Humane Society and found the new owners had taken Mickey home two hours after I found he was there. So now he has a pug, a Boston terrier and kids to play with, and a big fenced-in yard. If I had been to the place two hours later I would not seen him at all.
The pug rescue has 20 pugs in their little house, all of which need homes. Since Mickey now has a better home than I could give him, I'll get one that needs a home.
Some of the dogs have only one eye and many have spend their entire lives in puppy-mill cages. Fortunately, pugs are easier to tame, even if they are feral from being in cages for the first seven years of their lives.
The pug rescue gave Mickey to me for free because they thought he was unadoptable. After I fixed him up and he went from ugly to cute (Turtle does the same thing to gurls) he was adopted out in one day.
Turtle has the Gift.
