(Palo) We are lucky for the hospitality of 4um, their owner, Christine, and their kind posters Here is the email from Goldi which was forwarded on to me We have assessed the damage and will be replacing most of the parts that run the server. The heat damaged pretty much everything. The software may also be corrupted, and we will have to go back to our last good copy of a backup. We may lose some of the database, so when we come back up we may lose the past few weeks of posts. My best guess is 7 to 10 days downtime (max) Goldi
I am not on email with Goldi, but another poster is and was kind enough to forward me Goldi's email
so I would know what was going on and could share it with others
It looks like we will be on 4um for a while so I want to express my gratitude to 4um for their hospitality to us

A knish is a thick potato pancake fried on the outside and softer on the inside. We'd slice them in half and put mustard in the middle. Ummmmm....
Houston St. In Manhattan it's pronounced "How's dun" but in Texas it's "Hugh's ton". Just like in Egypt where it's "Kye row" (Cairo) but in Illinois it's "Kay row". Why is that Yankees (in NY and Ill) can't seem to get with the program? ;)
Houston Street (pronounced "HOW-stin") is named for William Houstoun, who was a Delegate to the Continental Congress for the State of Georgia from 1784 through 1786 and to the United States Constitutional Convention in 1787. The street was christened by Nicholas Bayard III, whose daughter, Mary, was married to Houstoun in 1788 The couple met while Houstoun, a member of an ancient and aristocratic Scottish family, was serving in the Congress. Bayard cut the street through a tract he owned in the vicinity of Canal Street in which he lived, and the city later extended it to include North Street, the northern border of New York's east side at the beginning of the 19th Century. The current spelling of the name is a corruption: the street appears as Houstoun in the city's Common Council minutes for 1808 and the official map drawn in 1811 to establish the street grid that is still current. buck... I think it is hilarious. Goldie has the largest contingent of free loaders ever collected in one place. Their definition of conservative is shameful
And don't you love their posts at LP? The last time I checked LP was a satellite of WND with billions of articles right out of the mouth of Joe. That isn't discussion; it is out right fascination. But make a thread about Ron Paul or any of the Patriot Movement and yukon and whitesands and margurerite are there to shit on the thread.
LP is a gathering of intellectual pygmies, political partisans, and all are living proof that government education and programming is a huge success. Not a self thinker in the lot.
What do you think happened to the posters at LP to make them be so vile and corrupt as to think any government (no matter the political party in power at the time) will set them free?
Some of us had a discussion this morning that LP is laden with people that ...still believe in the two party system...still believe in lib/con labels...are Isralie Firsters... Add all of those together and you have a flock of sheep. Paramount, they have not accepted the fact that government (all government) is the enemy.
That's true of a lot of the posters there,but not all of them by a long shot. Add all of those together and you have a flock of sheep. So why do people like that scare you so much you are afraid to debate them and maybe show them the error of their ways? From your POV,of course.
We get banned for confronting the inner sanctum of LP. I got banned when Mel published my home address on LP. When I complained about Mel, the next instant I was banned and the post was removed proving I was a liar to begin with. Yet, Mel continues to post there as though nothing ever happened. In this case it was continuous arguments over one of my friend's in the Patriot movement that Mel has always despised. For years until the recent past, I create other pseudo-names on LP dogging the players there based upon the timing of their own commitments about posts. Most everyone knows it myself and I found a certain satirical streak in my own nature based up Sally's incredible lies and innuendo. But, to tell you the truth, I want to donate to Sally's cause of creating the publick buoyancy of LP again. I just don't want to donate a thousand or so dollars when she knows it is me. I want palo to go home to roost in her chicken cage like most other refugees from LP.

I was banned from 4um for years; I was the first to be banned here. I only recently came back just before the demise of LP (hint: there is a reason). Ask christine as she knows me to be very passionate on political issues and I admit I can go over the top but I have tempored my passion with a bit of skill so that you might understand the grit. And you know the same. I am very aggressive but intend no harm. Well, as for palo I have BOZO. I am too lazy to click for her other than my earlier suggestion just up the thread to abraxss. It is my tribute to palo and perhaps her new spell-binding book that she has to pay for publishment. Are you going to buy a copy?

Katz's is on Houston Street (which is same as 1st Street)
and one block East of First Avenue (Avenue A)
blocks in Manhattan are tiny -- so it was 5 minute walk
no one has car in Manhattan
I notice the kosher deli around corner from me in Tucson has knishes
