Reid says town hall protesters are "evil-mongers"

Town hall protesters are "evil-mongers," says Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.)

Reid coined the term in a speech to an energy conference in Las Vegas this week and repeated it in an interview with Politics Daily.

Such "evil-mongers" are using "lies, innuendo and rumor," to drown out rational debate, Reid said.

"It was an original with me," Reid said of the term. "I maybe could have been less descriptive," he said, adding that "I doubt you'll hear it from me again."

Nevertheless, Reid worked in the word one more time during the interview.

"I feel I haven't done anything to embarrass [my children]," Reid joked. "Except maybe call somebody an evil-monger."

"evil-mongers"

Harry Reid worked for the UNITED STATES CAPITAL POLICE while he was in law school.

What would you expect a politician like this to say.?

If anyone had any doubt about the out of touch thinking process of our politicians, this town hall display should snap them back into reality. Spector has been punched about the state of PA and he claims the people attending aren't representative of Americans. I'd like to refer him back to his contribution to the Warren Commission report and remind him more people believe Elvis is alive than believe Oswald was the lone gunman.

Evil-mongers is so lame. Even for an ex US Capital Police cadet.

What I wish he would say is, "I must resign because I cannot, in good conscience, represent these 'evil-mongers' another day."

Spector has been out of touch for the past few decades.......Reid too. Oh, and Byrd is so damned old that somebody has to help him push the voting buttons. What about that ousted ol' bastard in Alaska who was rambling on and on and on in a feeble attempt to describe the Internet.

We desparately need term limits. Sigh.

But that will never happen, Harry Reid won't ever give up all that filthy dirty Nevada casino cash that pads his pockets.

"We're looking for [Obama] supporters," said DeHaven of Hoover, one of the event's organizers. "We're not looking for a fight. That will come later, when we have an army."

Amen.

"If, from the more wretched parts of the old world, we look at those which are in an advanced stage of improvement, we still find the greedy hand of government thrusting itself into every corner and crevice of industry, and grasping the spoil of the multitude. Invention is continually exercised, to furnish new pretenses for revenues and taxation. It watches prosperity as its prey and permits none to escape without tribute." --Thomas Paine, Rights of Man, 1791

Reid says town hall protesters are "evil-mongers"

this is very serious
the whole idea behind this is to intimidate protesters from coming out to protest
the Dems and Obama admin are setting the stage for "legal" harassment of protesters
what this means is if someone attends a protest
next day they get a visit from the FBI
plus FBI calls their employer
and visits their neighbors to ask about their activities

it is how dissent is stifled

God willing it won't work

Love, Palo

This makes perfect sense.

In the statist paradigm, good equates to agreeing with the enlightened ivory tower statists about total control over everything in life. Good mean smiling submissiveness and unthinking conformity.

It must hold then, that those that do not display these traits are by needs evil in that paradigm. So, if you believe in individual rights, if you don't agree reflexively with the government at a core level, if you don't want faceless bureaucrats controlling your life or telling you when to die, if you are not submissive but combative to their efforts, if you think for yourself, why then, you're "evil". So now it's ratched up to we're "evil". Wait for it...the "terrorist" label is approaching fast.
