I'm not sure how you could have concluded that. In fact I think Glenn Beck is likely a fascist and I make fun of him all the time.

Conservatives are for war, a police state, worship corporations, extreme nationalism, etc etc, which exactly match fascism.

In fact if you compared the conservative position against the Italian Fascist platform, you'd get almost a perfect match. Right down to a preoccupation with banning abortion.

Fascism and socialism are interchangeable terms. And sense you agree that liberals are socialists, by extension, you must also agree that liberals are fascists.

With Clinton bombs and invaded foreign nations, the dems in D.C. cheered him on; Haiti, Bosnia, Sudan, Somalia. The only reason they opposed Bush was the "R" beside his name.

You have not heard any real complaints from the dems in D.C about the U.S. wars in the middle east since Obama took office.

The hypocrisy is disgusting.

And the Holy Roman Empire, wasn't holy, nor roman, nor an empire. Try again. The Nazi party wasn't socialist in platform, nor in practice. They just kept it in their name because Socialism was popular in Germany at the time. It was a propaganda move. Many dictatorships today put Democratic in front of their name, and its clearly a lie.

You are embarrassing yourself. You are denying clearly discovered, undisputed facts. You are proclaiming not only your ignorance, but that you have no shame about your ignorance.

Although there was a lot in it for the industrialists and the investment class, if they cooperated (indeed, Krupp was allowed to keep his sole proprietorship of his manfacturing empire), there was a ton of stuff that was socialized by the nazis: medicine, vacations, recreation, infrastructure labor, child rearing and education.

In addition, the nazis continued the policy of restricting the heriditary rights of the nobility that had largely been lost with the end of the Second Reich. That was part of the socialist program, of course and one that is somewhat out of out field of reference in this country.

There was also a sort of benevolent egalitarianism that went hand in hand with the socialist world view emerging in the 20th century. The officer class that had achieved almost god-like status in the Kaiser's army was taken down a peg. Officers no longer were allowed to strike an enlisted man, and even had to ask permission to contact a man's uniform if something was out of order during an inspection. Regulations required that he say "May I touch your uniform?" before doing the inevitable.

All this "progress" got on the nerves of some, but this kind of branding was extremely popular and won over large swaths of Social Democrat voters to the National Socialists. Röhm was one of the big boosters of this brand of socialism and egalitarianism. That and his growing popularity vis a vis Hitler himself got him shot. They say that he shouted "Heil Hitler" as he was gunned down.

You are absolutely right, but then, so are liberals. Obama and the democans are supporting the same exact wars that Bush and the republicrats were for. Obama and the Democans are supporting the same exact police state laws that the republicrats were for. The democans are attempting to pass the same pro-corporate/anti-small guy legislation that the republicrats passed. Last but not least, the democans are using the same "dissent is unpatriotic" bullshit that the republicrats used during the Bush administration.
