I'm listening to him on AJ - he sounds like pop. Anyone know if he has a shot?

I got a newsletter email this morning, and he's polling pretty close to the contender (26 to 32% I think? Could be wrong on those numbers). Sounds like he has a real shot.

Keep in mind though that we're talking about Kentucky.

That's pretty much what he said. Is this Jim Bunning's seat?

I'm not quite sure, I'm not at my home computer to look up details at the moment.

Yes it is. He said he would only run if Bunning stepped down.

Rand Paul detonates ‘money bomb’ in U.S. Senate race By Jack Brammer -

FRANKFORT — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul detonated a so- called “money bomb” Thursday in hopes of raising $1 million by midnight, an accomplishment that would validate his status as a mainstream candidate.

However, the explosion was less than expected. As of 6 p.m., the campaign’s web site reported gathering $346,322 on Thursday..............http://bluegrasspolitics.bloginky.com/

But they wouldn't count it. ;)

Your not in Kentucky. Or are you thinking 2012 for prez. Or are you holding out for 2016.

Not to shabby. Even if it was the lower number it would still be a good take.

Someone off the chart good is going to have to appear on the scene to get me back on the voting rolls. A Paul would, especially if he had a shot. I have no idea who is running against Spector, but he has to go. Obama is sooooooo bad, I've become desperate :P

Toomey, his last opponent from 2004, will probably get the GOP nomination. Toomey has been president of Club For Growth in the meantime.

Spectre only narrowly held Toomey off in 2004 in the GOP primary because the RNC and Bush funneled so much money and support to him.
