Title: Recapping What Nevada's Senator John Ensign Promised As A Promise Keeper

Beleaguered Sen. John Ensign (R-No Comment) got chatty this week at a Chamber of Commerce event in Fernley, Nev., that marked his first public appearance in his home state since announcing his extramarital affair.

A week after being called out by a fellow Republican for his prolonged silence, Ensign told the Associated Press on Wednesday that, unlike President Clinton and former Idaho Sen. Larry Craig, whom he strongly chastised for their indiscretions, he shouldn’t consider resigning.

"I haven't done anything legally wrong," he said, though a Washington watchdog group thinks investigators could possibly come to a different conclusion.

"In the case of President Clinton," said Ensign, whom commentator Rachel Maddow has tagged Johnny Be Bad, "first of all he was president and he stood right before the American people and he lied to the American people. You remember the famous day that he lied to the American people, plus the fact that I thought he suborned perjury. That's why I voted for articles of impeachment."

Now, while no one is accusing Ensign of perjury, one could argue that the senator never told voters that he advocated such things as having an affair with a married staffer and then getting his wealthy parents to pay her and her family $96,000 after she left his employ. Quite the opposite.

Ensign, a social conservative who has also railed against gay marriage, belongs to the Christian ministry Promise Keepers, whose members adhere to seven vows. Here are two of them:

No. 3: A Promise Keeper is committed to practicing spiritual, moral, ethical, and sexual purity.

No. 4: A Promise Keeper is committed to building strong marriages and families through love, protection and biblical values.

At least he didn't drown her.

So which is worse - a fallable human being striving to live according to a set of values - even at the risk of falling short?

Or living by no values at all?

So which is worse -

Being a Republican caught with his panties around his ankles.

At least he wasn't paying some whore to put him in diapers so he could poop his pants and such. That's what Vitter was paying the whores for. Dunno why more people didn't hear about it but then a lot of people still don't know about Xlinton's confusing habit of inserting cigars in Monica and having her toss his salad either.

Repukelicans generally get tagged with the label hypocrite - when they get caught "with their pants down" (i.e. in some moral falling). Fine. If they do what Vitter, Ensign, or Craig did, they should get nailed.

What I don't buy is Demwits not being labelled hypocrites, as well. Not for any moral failings, mind you - they claim none, so they have every right not to have any.

But what about racists like Byrd and Sotomayor? Hypocrites? What about Zero - preaching to us that we should "be our brother's keeper" - while his own brother lives in a hut? What about Goober "chicken little" Gore with a carbon footprint of his own the size of Texas? Aren't they all hypocrites, too?

You can fall for the two party - demwits good, repukes bad, bulls**t if you want to.

Just count me out.

Just count me out.

Me out (don't count me either).

The U.S. Govt is a tyrannical butcher; U.S. taxpayers are accomplices to international murder and mayhem. If you satisfy your fears by bowing to this butcher, you forfeit your humanity for a pound of flesh.

Bravo!

"If, from the more wretched parts of the old world, we look at those which are in an advanced stage of improvement, we still find the greedy hand of government thrusting itself into every corner and crevice of industry, and grasping the spoil of the multitude. Invention is continually exercised, to furnish new pretenses for revenues and taxation. It watches prosperity as its prey and permits none to escape without tribute." --Thomas Paine, Rights of Man, 1791

The Dims are moral lepers too.

Look what the two crime families in District have done to the country. Clearly, we are in very deep s**t with two broken paddles.

What Nevada's Senator John Ensign Promised As A Promise Keeper

This is a man who put his hand on a Bible and swore an oath to his God, yet has spent a career in breaking that oath and the author thinks he gives a damn about a promise he made to fellow human beings? LOL!
