(Newser Summary) – Things are looking brighter for Republicans in the Senate, writes Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight.com. In his monthly ranking of which seats are most likely to switch parties in 2010, Republicans have made a big move. Of the 10 seats that look more likely to switch hands, seven favor Republicans. “While there are still plenty of opportunities for Democrats,” he writes, “I believe that Republicans are now slightly more likely to gain seats.” Here’s the top of the list, ranked in order of how likely they are to switch parties: Missouri (R-open): Still looks most likely to flip, despite fundraising gains by Roy Blunt. New Hampshire (R-open): Observers think Republican Kelly Ayotte’s too inexperienced to win. Connecticut (D-Chris Dodd): With the GOP primary up in the air, this is a toss-up. Why is this a good thing? People switching back to what has already failed, which is wimpy Republican non-defense of small government, Republican corruption and the latest Republican knack for creating a looming National Security State, is surely a sign of madness.
Divided government is a good thing. Maintaining the facade means less "gets done", i.e. done to the peasants.

Obama will be to the next (Republican) President what Carter was to Reagan. The Democrats are so stupid they don't realize they've cut their own throats.
The question is, will the Republicans do anything to undo the damage the Dems have done? the Republicans like big government as much as the left, just for other things. ------- Exactly. Both parties are leading us down the road to government control.
