Wednesday, August 26, 2009 Breakin News; 2010 Census will have questions about your guns on it!
From a poster at the Ron Paul forums;
I was recently emailed by a friend and he told me that he had coffee with an acquaintance who works at the census bureau. The acquaintance seemed very agitated about all the changes taking place i.e. ACORN taking over, etc.. He also told the source that a question was going to be put on the 2010 census regarding gun ownership. He said that if a person answered in the affirmative as to whether they owned guns, that the person would then be required to list the guns with the census bureau. The source trusts this guy and says he is high enough up to know what's going on.
As of now, the census has no such question on their site, so at this juncture they will have plausible deniability. However, I think it will be much more difficult for them to add such questions in the future, if a firestorm is created beforehand.
All gun advocates should be notified, as well as the media. Not only is this a violation of our privacy, but the second amendment is the only thing between us and a totalitarian regime.
...I am currently trying to contact the source for confirmation. Updates to follow...
