- In late July Deputy Darius Harper was arrested in Orlando and accused of solicitation of a prostitute.
Richard Heitzenrater was arraigned in federal court Monday morning on charges he violated the civil rights of David Baker by striking and kneeing the Ambridge man in the holding cell on Feb. 20.
Heitzenrater and fellow officer Lt. Robert Kuzma were also indicted by a federal grand jury with working together the next day to destroy evidence, including a recording made by the police station surveillance system, to cover up the alleged beating. Both men pleaded not guilty to the charges.

AKRON, Ohio A Summit County sheriffs deputy is charged with felony perjury in connection with the case surrounding an inmates death.A hearing held Wednesday found probable cause to charge 26-year-old Joshua Griffin, of Rootstown, with five counts of perjury and one misdemeanor count of falsification.The charges relate to testimony Griffin gave in the investigation of Mark McCullaughs death.
McCullaugh was an inmate of the Summit County Jail when he died.Griffin surrendered to authorities and was released on a $5,000 bond.
He has been placed on unpaid administrative leave by Sheriff Drew Alexander.
He should have raped him in his cell. Then he would have received a paid vacation out of the deal.
David Woon Chong, 39, was sentenced to four years and four months for his role in a March 2008 incident at the restaurant on the Redondo Beach Pier, the Los Angeles County district attorneys office said.
Chong threatened a restaurant patron after getting into an argument with two men. Chong kicked some food out of the mans hand, then pulled out a .45-caliber Glock handgun and pointed it at the mans head, the district attorney said.
Chong left the restaurant and was pulled over by Redondo Beach police. He allegedly had a 0.11 blood alcohol level at the time of his arrest, according to the district attorney.
A former San Diego police officer today was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for giving inside information to drug traffickers.
Juan Hurtado Tapia, 39, admitted that he used his status as a police officer last year to provide information to traffickers, including about a drug investigation. He also admitted that he had lied to federal agents about providing the information and that he was attempting to impede a drug investigation.
Federal prosecutors say a 35-year-old Calvert County man has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for possessing child pornography.
The U.S. Attorneys Office says David Larose a former Prince Georges County police officer is also required to register as a child sex offender and will serve three years probation.
Prosecutors say the judge determined that Larose lied during his testimony at the hearing and failed to accept responsibility for his conduct.
Larose had been a patrol officer since 1996 with the Prince Georges County Police Department. According to his plea deal from 2006 to 2007 Larose used his personal email account to purchase child porn from websites.
Guernsey County Sheriffs deputies were called at 4:40 a.m. June 7 to Pikes Peak Campground in the Kimbolton area where a 36-year-old Massillon man reported that Riley had attacked him.
Rileys 27-year-old sister-in-law, who lives in Canton, also reported being physically assaulted. She and the man told deputies that Riley had used his 1997 Ford Ranger to ram the mans Ford Mustang four times.
Riley was arrested the next day on misdemeanor charges of criminal damaging and two counts of assault, booked into the jail and released.
According to an arrest affidavit, Officer Jason Rozacky broke into the womans home the evening of Aug. 20.
The woman was having dinner with a friend when Rozacky banged on the front door and yelled for her to come out and speak with him, the affidavit stated.
Rozacky then broke into the home, and thats when the woman grabbed a gun and ordered him to leave, the affidavit stated. The officer charged at the woman and they fell to the ground and fought over the weapon, the affidavit stated.
The officer eventually left the home.
The woman suffered some scratches, the affidavit stated.
Rozacky was arrested Wednesday and charged with burglary with intent to assault.He was released from the Bexar County Jail after posting a $20,000 bond.
