"Teabaggers" from around the nation gathered in Washington D.C. Saturday to protest what they believe is a bigger government and health care reform. Tens of thousands of people marched to the U.S. Capitol on Saturday, carrying signs with slogans such as "Obamacare makes me sick" as they protested the president's health care plan and what they say is out-of-control spending. The line of protesters spread across Pennsylvania Avenue for blocks, all the way to the capitol, according to the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. People were chanting "enough, enough" and "We the People." Others yelled "You lie, you lie!" and "Pelosi has to go," referring to California congresswoman Nancy Pelosi. In Battle Creek, Michigan, a woman in her 60s says, "I really don't want to be a guinea pig for the experiment they have with the population control." In Canton, Ohio, a woman argues with an Obama supporter: "He's going after our kids to try to indoctrinate them into a national defense army." The Tea Party Express tour has been free of violence, but occasional outbursts of vitriolic hatred toward the president combined with some menacing outward appearances often overshadow the more moderate tea partyers. In Louisville, Kentucky, two young men in camouflage fatigues roamed the crowd trying to recruit new members for their militia called the Ohio Valley Freedom Fighters. They bear signs reading "AK-47s: today's pitchfork" and "Quit worrying. Start your militia training today." In Jackson, Michigan, a young man didn't need a sign. He was carrying the real thing: A loaded AK-47 assault rifle and two loaded handguns. "I don't want a revolution. I don't want a civil war," he said. "But it is a possibility. What's sad are the comments of a man who purports to be astute politically, but instead is ignorant. The two million people who gathered yesterday are decent folk who traveled to DC on their own dime & time because the time is *now* to reject Obama. If he tried to run in the Primary they'll gang up on him and it'll cost him a LOT of money If he runs as an Independent, all he needs are the signatures to get on the ballot and then win a three-way race. I'm thinking there are different levels of awareness amongst the dissatisfied. I believe their reasons are as diverse as their economic make up. I'm glad to see them make this rally happen. I think the level of disdain shown for Bush here on 4UM was equal to that being shown for Obama, only Bush didn't promise open and transparent government, which made it take a little longer to realize what a scumbag he was. I couldn't care less...I was telling my brother this AM , I was completely impressed by the caliber of this crowd...angry, you bet... respectful of property and courteous to others, ABSOLUTLEY. This WAS America. Fathers, mothers, children, vets, business owners, hourly wage earners...everyone was represented. I was FLOORED by the outpouring. The powers that be are in SERIOUS trouble, and I mean SERIOUS. These folks aren't going to stand by while their country goes communism and just watch it happen. I figure for every 1 person that showed up, 10 more hold the same ideas. Let that soak in for just a second...the PTB are up against a 20 million person army...many, many vets, police and current military. I have know doubt they are crapping all over themselves...I also have little doubt we are in for an "event" of epic proportions to try to corral the sheep. I am VERY encouraged...the American people are FINALLY waking up...GOD help those on the opposing side.

Maybe you could start the process off and running by contacting Jim and tell him our intentions. We have nothing to lose and there is nary anyone else who has a a score to settle with the ones who framed and cheated him. Just to find out how much support he might have nationally, why don't you start a thread so we can guage the support for him as a national candidate? We could send him the results. But I do think that many if not most are just reacting to the insipid and dishonest tactics of the insurance companies with their paid for "studies" and hysterical tactics adopted by some republicans, not to mention the out right lies by some of these people. They must know their rice bowl (and a very nice rice bowl at that) is in a little danger of being upset. As for illegals getting medical care, I say no, but guess what, they get it anyway, at the emergency room, and you and I end up paying for it at confiscatory rates. So let's be sure not to change this system so that in a few years our entire income will go to the medical insurers.

Did I ever tell you that I owned a beach house right next door to the old Sam Houston estate at Cedar Point, Texas. A new house was built on the site as the old foundation now lays about 100 yards off the coast on underwater. Last I knew(10 years on) the site was still registered as a historic site with the State of Texas.
