So there you have it, direct from the wide world of sports; take the shot and go down sick. When I found out last night I immediately took Temple with 30 points, and I also bet $50 on the under since it looks like the water boy will be the starting quarterback and Temple is one step above high school level. These are young, healthy kids who became sick after after testing a vaccine for our paranoid, psychotic government. I just hit the Immune Assist, D3, and camu-camu. I fear no bug!

Are you kidding? Was the shots for the 'new' swine flu?

I've been pounding D3 too and just ordered a lot more. I'm going to stock up on GSE, and Olive Leaf. MY C-Silver generator will be ready to go. I have hundreds of packs of Emergen-C to go with the rest of my stuff. There is no way in hell I'm taking that shot.

Not sure of the details beyond what I posted which comes from a premium PSU football board. I heard rumbles about this early yesterday, but it's now confirmed. I honestly don't know if they have enough kids to play at this point. I'll be watching from home, so I'll keep the thread updated as I receive news.

As I mentioned on another thread, Sambucol (also sold as Sambucus) is probably THE best thing you could take to actually CURE the flu.

BTW Flint, I HAVE done more than just a bit of research on the topic, follow the links I posted and you'll see that I didn't just hear about this yesterday.

Now you made an assertion that it is unsafe to take Samucol, which seems sort of contradictory to the medical findings. Back up what you say if you want to make a point here, otherwise you're probably just repeating some disinfo put out on some forum by the drug companies that are pushing the vaccine and Tamiflu, both of which ARE highly dangerous.

Here it is:

While black elderberry extract be appropriate for ordinary Type A influenza, it could make avian flu more lethal. Ordinary strains of flu do not trigger massive production of TNF, and ordinary flu viruses are generally susceptible to the action of TNF. Avian flu, by contrast, does trigger massive production of TNF (as much as a 45x increase), while the virus is relatively resistant to the anti-viral effects of TNF. If TNF is a significant cause of the illness and mortality in avian flu, anything that increases TNF would be undesirable.

Immune Assist, D3, and camu-camu.

Not sure about the Immune Assist and camu-camu, but if D3 was actually a preventative, don't you think the football team would all be healthy since they're out in the sun practicing during the day? Vitamin D is produced naturally by the human body when exposed to sunlight.

Elderberrry extract has been shown to disarm viruses by flattening the haemaglutinin spikes on the flu virus, keeping it from invading cells in the human body.

From How Sambucol works

The flu virus invades a cell by puncturing the wall with tiny spikes called Hemaglutinin which cover the surface of the virus. The two active ingredients which are isolated from the proteins of the black elderberry actually disarm these spikes by binding to them and preventing them from puncturing the cell membranes. In addition, the viral spikes are covered with an enzyme called neuraminidase which acts to break down the cell wall. It was discovered that the bioflavonoids which are present in high concentrations in the black elderberry appear to actually inhibit the action of this enzyme.

So you see, besides the fact the elderberry extract triggers cytokine production, which in turn causes the immune system to create disease fighting lymphocytes, it also disarms the virus itself by the action described above.

That is in addition to the anti-inflammatory effects of the anthocyanins contained in elderberry extract which counteract the inflammatory effects of cytokines.

In summary, I would still take Sambucol before I took any toxic brew in my arm or swallowed Tamiflu which has been known to cause people to commit suicide.

The team I'm concerned about is the Texas Longhorns.

After having seen the segment at halftime a couple of weeks ago of Coach Mack Brown going over to Iraq to "worship" the troops at Camp Granada or wherever, I have very little hope he will resist the authoritarian mindset to order mass inoculations for his team. This may well have already happened.

Mack, IMO, is not the type who would object. He would want his team to be like the "troops," who are subjected to ANY and EVERY inoculation known to man before deployments.

IMO there are other OTC remedies that are better suited to combat the H5N1 Avian Flu virus.

Favorable matchup: Penn State vs. Temple. This game wasn't even close in 2008. Penn State used a 31-point second quarter to rout the Owls, 45-3. Penn State rolled up 308 rushing yards and QB Daryll Clark didn't even need to play the whole game. Temple lost to a FCS school in Week 1 (Villanova), so they are already headed in the wrong direction.

The source you gave did not consider the action of elderberry extract in terms of disarming the viral spikes which is what allows the virus to invade a healthy cell in the first place. That is a huge oversight on the part of that author, and makes his analysis less than accurate.

He also didn't mention the fact that it contains anthocyanins which counteract the inflammatory effects of the cytokines which he appears to be so concerned about. He neglects the fact that TNF is just one of the many cytokines produced, and that the others actually trigger Lymphocytes, the majority of which are known as Natural Killer Cells (NK) as they kill tumors and cells which are infected with viruses, as well as T cells and B cells, which are a type of Lymphocyte that trigger and coordinate antibody production against pathogens such as viruses and harmful bacteria...

Illness hits Lions before Temple game

By Derek Levarse dlevarse@timesleader.com Sports Reporter

Penn State has had little trouble with Temple in the past three years. Outside forces could make the fourth game much trickier.

An unidentified illness has swept through the Nittany Lions' locker room this week and disrupted practice leading up to today's game against the Owls, according to defensive coordinator Tom Bradley.

"We've had a bunch of kids sick this week, we've had as many as 15," Bradley said Friday on a weekly segment with ESPN Radio 1250 in Pittsburgh. "So we're just being extra careful and cautious. We had about 18 guys miss practice (Thursday) from whatever kind of flu it is. And I know our doctors are on top of it, just trying to be really cautious."

As of Friday night, it was unclear if any players would be held out for the Temple game as a result of the bug.

With recent global concerns over the spread of the H1N1 virus -- also known as swine flu -- sports teams across the country have taken precautionary measures

Bradley said Penn State coaches and players received basic flu shots last Sunday, especially after reports of other major college teams being severely affected.

Last week, both Wisconsin and Mississippi had a combined 40 players forced off the field because of swine flu symptoms.

Georgia, Washington State, Duke and Tulane have also been hit by the bug in the first month of the season.

The fear isn't as much about players playing or practicing while sick, but spreading the ailment to others.

"It scares us to death," Texas coach Mack Brown told The Associated Press.

Bradley said none of the Penn State cases have been identified as swine flu, but under-the-weather players have been held out as a precaution.

"Some it's been a couple days, some a day, but the doctors are just not sure what it is yet, so they're being so cautious and just getting them out and getting them away from everybody rather than risk that it may be (swine flu)," Bradley said. "Our doctors are working very hard this week."

For updates on how the illness is affecting the Lions, including any players being held out of the Temple game, visit The Times Leader PSU Blog for breaking news from Beaver Stadium as kickoff approaches.

So there we have it, they took the "seasonal" shot. As I've said in the past, THAT shot is harmful in itself and totally ineffective.

I can just imagine what the super duper untested H1N1 shot will be like...

my guy has us on 50IU once a week. apparently latest research shows a megadose like that is most effective. however, i know someone who's tried this and he feels better doing the daily 10k to 20IU, but that's good to know if one actually does contract the flu.

In #44, I see they got the seasonal flu shot. And they are reporting swine flu-like symptoms (which are identical to regular flu symptoms BTW).

Never mind. Carry on.

Flu Bowl over.

PSU 31, Temple 6.

Total vanilla offense, run, run, run.

The kids were lethargic and again, they all developed illness after the vaccine.

Illness hits Lions before Temple game

By Derek Levarse dlevarse@timesleader.com
Sports Reporter

Has the Flu Bowl kicked off yet?

If your question is about Penn State and Temple's football game, it is over. Penn State won the game 31-6. It is the fourth year in a row that Temple hasn't been able to score a touchdown against the Lions.

Of the 15 "sick" players, five of them didn't play at all.

Sorry you lost your bet Jethro.

My goodness.

Those scrappy Penn players rose from their vaccine-induced deathbeds and achieved a heroic victory over Temple and the swiney-flu and who knows how many other micro-organisms.
